Disabling the door chime when a door is open

Is there any way to disable the beeping noise that it does everytime you have a door open? sometimes I'm just listening to tunes or whatever with the car parked and if the door is open it will endlessly make a beeping sound. the car doesnt even have to be running, and it seems there should be a way to disable this sound. Does this bother anyone else, or does anyone know of a way to disable it?

My STi has this same thing and there was a trick where you put the car on, not started, and plug the drivers side seatbelt in and out 20 times in 30 seconds and then the beeping went away. Tried that old trick but it didn't work but i'm thinking there must be something similiar or a way to turn it off.

and now you will notice it ALL THE TIME:eek.:. We do a lot of tailgating and such, where we have music playing and we're just hangin out not driving, and it's annoying to have to keep the doors shut to avoid this noise. I've been unable to find anything on google searches or on any of the fx forums. seems like there has to be a way tho, it had to have bothered someone much smarter than me at some point and they tinkered with it until it went away
 
are you talking about the beep when u get out of the fx and shut the door while the car is runnin or when you shut of the car and open the door??

cause i always have my doors open and i never get beep
 
The beep happens when the door is open and the key is turned to the ACC or ON position with the engine off.
 
Same problem, so I just open all the windows with the door closed. The music goes thru the windows just as well.
