Difficulty Getting Shift Lever Out of Park?

Just picked up the car last thursday and after having it for two days found it difficult to get the shift lever out of park. I am not parked on a hill, have fully depressed the brake, and firmly pressed the button on the lever! This happens intermittantly! Dealer finally duplicated this and replaced the whole shift assembly but then found out they couldnt get the new one "into" Park so they have ordered another new assembly? Anyone out there have this problem with your FX ? They said there is a solenoid that gets a signal that you have fully depressed the brake and then it dissengages to allow the lever to move out of park.

I've had this issue, but only when parked on a slight incline or when I'm parked right up against a parking block. Others have experienced the same symptoms. Let us know how the new one works out.

Dealer installed a second complete new assembly, everything works great now!
PS: First new assy wouldnt go into park! (Original would not come out of park)

To aid in the ease of shifting out of Park, always use the parking brake as well. When you decide to park, hold the brake pedal, shift to P, apply the parking brake, then let go of the brake pedal.

When getting back in to leave, press and hold the brake pedal, release the parking brake, shift to D (or R), then slowly let off the brake pedal.

Good to hear the dealer worked your issue out.

I sometimes have a problem engaging from park on a steep incline. Other than that, with my parking brake engaged, it's pretty easy. I'm a stickler for always using that.
