Jessie, sorry, don't want to steal your thread, but have a few questions...

How do you know the 2011 OEM TPMS don't work with 2009/2010 and vice versa? Do you know the model #s of OEM TPMS off hand for both versions for the FX50? Discount Tires installed brand new OEM sensors for my ride and said it was for a 2011 or 2012 FX, but can't remember what year. My sensors are still not registering with their programming, but this may be the issue. If I confirm the new 2011+ model and the older models with them, maybe they'll know what to order! :)

Also, my understanding was the OEM FX sensors were rubber stems....those are typically more and avoid corrosion in the winters. The above pics look non-rubber thought??'

Thanks for the help!

Jmess86 is right. 2009-2010 uses part number 40700-JK00C for FX35/FX50

2011 uses OEM part number 40700-1LA0B.

Jonas -- are you sure they installed OEM TPMS? OEM for 2009-2010 is $130.03 each where aftermarket (oro-tek, which I have) are $45.99/each. The Oro-tek part number is OSC-8204. The last sensor that is aftermarket that will work is iOro part number OTI-003.

OEM FX sensors are 100% not rubber stems, and the grommet is typically metal too.

Ed - are you able to pull my question regarding TPMS to another thread with responses from you and Ian and mine following it? I hate stealing Jessie's thread...

My story...
1. First visit: They put on the new winter wheels and tires. Confirmed they can program the sensors when bought. TPMS training manager showed 2009 FX50 selection in their TPMS sync toy that I guess is fairly new. Yellow light never came off.
2. Second visit: They said they think it didn't sync appropriately because the OEM tires/rims with OEM sensors were in the trunk when the winter set on the car was programmed so it probably caused not to sync right. So they redid the TPMS. Yellow light never came off.
3. Third visit: I said do it right I don't want to come back. So the Manager had one of the guys run out and pick up 4 brand new "OEM 2011 or 2012 sensors" - I can't remember what year he said. He said these OEM sensors are also rubber so I won't have issues with TPMS corrosion. I remember this because I was thinking to myself .... nice....they gave me a winter set of wheels and tires with TPMS sensors aftermarket that would corrode eventually the first time. Yellow light never came off, but he said he confirmed in the books that the light won't come off until you drive it around a bit.
4. It's been several days and yellow light still not off. I called yesterday again to talk with the guy. I told him I have friends that have the same car and have confirmed with me that when the sensors are programmed at the dealership, the yellow light should come off right away...it's only when you put tires on that were already programmed earlier that it needs to sync up but syncs up pretty quickly. He said he would call Infiniti dealership for more details. I told him they might say that only the dealership can do it, but I told him that it's not true because I know guys that have got the TPMS programmed at Infiniti, Nissan, as well as, other tire shops, so it DOES NOT have to only be dealership. He said he would sync up with me this week with what he finds out....he said he has not had issues with other cars or other Infinitis before.

So now I'm wondering why he said they are all rubber and OEM and if not, what is actually on the tires? Doesn't it just matter on the frequency? I'm also kind of bummed then I might lose the rubber TPMS to fix this issues if that is the cause.
I'll mention that my year is different than 2011 sensors.
So, 2009-2010 OEM for FX35/FX50 is 40700-JK00C
and 2009-2010 aftermarket for FX35/FX50 is oro-tek OSC-8204?
and they should use either of those two? On infinitiORG, one of the guys used redi sensors which worked for him on his 2009 and that is what I think I had initially in the first visit that didn't work, but not positive.

any other suggestions to mention to the guy? They are really nice and seem willing to do what it takes to solve the problem, but not sure what else to suggest.

1) "anyone" can do it, you just need to buy these tools:
http://revolutionsupply.com/Products.aspx?class=17&subclass=167
Ateq OBD TPMS Reset Tool $1,256.11 EA

VT55 OBD Module $703.26 ea

for example.

http://www.revolutionsupply.com/pdf...-Application-Chart-Version-CA1-41.2009.12.pdf

2) http://revolutionsupply.com/AppGuide.aspx but yeah, the part numbers are right.

3) It won't rust out on you, I've had my winters forever and they've seen so much salt. The valve stem has nothing to do the TPM sensor, all it does it hold the TPM sensor in place. If you have a rubber one, most are flexible and would wobble. That's why most (if not all), are metal.

Doesn't your screen show the air pressure, like 32 PSI or whatever? Right now the light is showing a "flat" because it can't sense any tmps. It 100% will go away right away once it detects there are TPMS and the PSI is okay. You might have to drive a little bit the first time, maybe a few feet to get the sensors activated and read.

Does this help?

Jonas, just thought I would mention my 09 OEM sensors are the all silver or metal ones

I just called and mentioned the model of the OEM and the oto-tek....they are looking into it and will have it by Saturday. We'll see how the next visit goes!
I said the 40700-JK00C or the oro-tek OSC-8204.
Thanks guys for the help! I think they had the redi sensors the first time and 2011 sensors on now.

Soo happy....

They got the OEM 40700-JK00C sensors delivered, stopped by, and they installed all free of charge...light is off after syncing and all 4 tires measure psi by the time I hit the first stoplight!! :)

Thanks for providing the model # of the OEM sensors....that helped with them making sure to get the exact ones I need for my winter set.

Glad you got it worked out. I had no idea that they were different after I stopped at 3 places (local inspection shop, Nissan dealer.. the last was the Infiniti dealership and they said that the 09-10 / 11 models have different sensors. These are the ones I'm gonna buy and they should work http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-4-Dorman-974-022-Tire-Pressure-Sensor-TPMS-/350508358207?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2009%7CModel%3AFX35&vxp=mtr&hash=item519bed1a3f#ht_2369wt_1396, I don't think there oem but I don't care as long as I have no yellow light while the 21's are on.

I am wondering the same thing about TPMS 2009-2010 and 2011.

I have 2010 fx35, and in 2011 spring, I bought 2nd set of wheels and tires online, and tpms from dealer. The dealership installed them for me. During the winter of 2011, I swapped back to the oem 2010 wheels with 2010 tpms and winter tires, the local tire shop was able to reprogram to my car for me for free.

Now the same local tire shop swapped back to 2011 sets, and they can't reprogram it. I took my car to another tire shop and with no luck. They said their device dont work on this tpms. Now I am bringing back to Infiniti later this week, and they will charge me $60 (half hour labour) for this.

When I called Infiniti, they said the 2011 ones does have different product numbers from 2010 ones. It's a huge rip off and hassel if I have to bring my car back to dealership everytime I swap my tires.

I need to get new tpms for my 21's. Should i order the same part number for the 2011 model? I have a 13' fx37

It's been almost 8 years since activity on this. I'm searching for new TPMS sensors. Factory prices are a little crazy. Does anyone have good specific TPMS sensor information and source? I'm finding inconsistent information and have no interest in purchasing electronic devices $$ for such occasional use. I've got one dead sensor that I want to replace but intend to replace them all when my 2009 FX50 is due for new tires. References appreciated.

I had the TPMS sensors changed to aftermarket the last time I put new tires on. I can't give you specifics, but I bought them at the tire shop and they installed and reprogrammed the car. They were less than $35 each.
