did i get ripped? if i did what can i do about it please help

Tell them that you are very active online and will give them a lot of bad press. If they still don't work with you then tell ur story on all car related sites. Please format it properly before you do that and also mention the dealership name.

Earlier on I had considered suggesting Abdul go viral with his complaints against the dealership. He could craft a letter that describes in detail how he was taken advantage of by Morrey and broadcast it out but seeing how he got into this position in the first place I would be a little concerned about the presentation.....maybe there's a kindhearted consumer advocate in your area Abdul that will be willing to help you out. One things for sure if you are going to make anything happen it needs to happen quickly.

please learn from your own mistake instead of complaining about how bad you have gotten ripped off. It is the buyer's responsibility to do researches beforehand. Just be more aware next time you purchase a car, or anything in that matter. I made the same mistake when i was purchasing a new car. I didn't whine about how bad I got hustled.

Honestly, you're an idiot for handling a car purchase without doing the proper research. I love it, they wanted 36k, but you negotiated it down to $35,500. Perfect.

+1 - His situation is not pretty and may be self generated but derogetory terms like "idiot" aren't really helpful.

 I agree. My brother in Ottowa bought a small car ( Brand new Zuzuki) and it cost them $26K CAD.

+1. Cars just cost more here in Canada plain and simple due to low inventory & supply/demand, taxes, duties, shipping, etc. that get rolled into Cdn pricing. Can't really compare prices across different countries, just consider how much more cars cost in Asia, Europe, etc.

For example, a $28K fx35 in the US works out to maybe $31K after dealing with duties & transportation to Canada. Add a few more bucks for being a low mileage vehicle (36,000km = 22,500 miles for an '06) and the OP's car could be justified as being worth maybe $32-$33K CAD. Exchange rate difference is another 2-3% on average which adds another $1k to the car price.

Overall, yes he could of been a bit better informed and done a bit better negotiating but we're only talking about a couple thousand at the end of the day. Overpaying for stuff SUCKS, but sometimes it just happens...it's a part of life. Learn and move on. Most important is that the car is in good shape and runs well.

All is well that ends well.
Now try to pay off this 5 year loan in 2 years.
No min payment here or you're car will be worthless in no time.
Grand Luck.

Arite guys we get the point he got ripped off pretty bad by now. How about we throw some ideas to help the guy out at least. Lesson learned.

i cant stand ufair dealerships always taking advantage:mad:

I seen on ebay and online dealer. $36,000 or more for FX35 '09 in the noertheast PA/NJ dealers. 35,500 for a "06 seem high, it should be in the high $20k - low $30k.

Ripped

Not even in the U S would I pay that much. I researched on this site, and thank You guy's for all the info. I got my 07 with 27k miles for 24,500. Research pays off in the long run. I hate crooked dealers! Sorry for your bad experience.

it's like going to class to take the midterm without any preparation, failed and whined about how hard the midterm was, and request a retake from the professor. haha

thanks for support i know i made a mistake i never knew big dealerships would ripp people off but i was wrong i guess and i cant do much by now money comes and goes i know money is hard to make but feels bad for getting ripped and lesson learned

Yeah some dealerships are pricks like that. I was looking for a car for someone and as soon as I told them I wanted to drive there to go look at the car, they raised the price up the next day and put up another ad to see if someone else would buy it for a higher price. Use the Internet reviews to your power to drive their business down, to teach them a lesson as well.
