Decisions: G35X to an FX35

Hi guys, this is my first post here. I have owned 2 G35X Sedans. I am considering the move to a FX35. My present G35 is Platinum Ice. I will go with Ivory Pearl or another Platinum Ice. I was planning on a fully loaded FX.
I am still undecided.
Have any of you folks gone this route from a G35 sedan to the FX? Have you noticed a big change in handling and performance or do you still have that smile on your face when driving the FX.
 
the fx is a g35x on steroids... a few mods & your back up to it in performance for the most part, I could see going from the g35x to the fx, I couldn't see going from the fx to the g35x though:tongue:
 
More speed stock with the G, but build quality is much better on the FX. Notably on the interior.
Handling? FX feels much less squirly than the G, & gives a better ride.
Keep in mind, that nobody's a G hater here. We love it as a loaner, but cant wait to get back into our FX's.

Now the 37, that might be a diff. story

My wife and I took an 08 out last week and loved it.
I have always been a fan of the FX, I think the time is almost here to make the move.
The hardest decision will be color choice. Platinum Ice or Ivory Pearl.
 
Welcome to the Scene! Either color of choice will be good, over all the FX is a great ride! You will enjoy it...
 
Funny, i might be doing the opposite...going from an FX right now to a possible '08 G35x fully loaded.
 
Can't go wrong with either color but the FX was definitely the right choice! Welcome to the Scene.
 
Last time at the dealer, I was in an 07 for a month. Absolute bomb, w/ 100 foot burnouts. Great car.

i heard the '07s had a few issues regarding throttle response (lag). it was fixed in the ECU for the '08s, although since i have only test driven an '08 i cant compare it to an '07 regarding that issue. i really enjoyed the ride...its civl when you want it to be, and when you put the pedal down it just flies. the updated interior really got to me too...

I have had no throttle lag on my 07. I think the problem you are talking about is a surge that occurs while on cruise control to some 07 sedans. It is cured by doing an 08 ECU reflash. This same reflash also will cure the very touchy throttle pedal.

That thing is hawt!
Unless you go FI on the fx, you're gonna miss the acc surge for sure.
Just being realistic here . . Keep both ;)

Thanks, I hear you on the acc difference, I noticed that on my test runs between the two. I really do love my X but the FX really is a sweet ride too, I have always had a love for the FX. That is why it is such a hard decision. I am so undecided on this right now.

I also wanted to comment on this site. I just found it this week, looks like a great place with some great people :top:

I drove a new G35 (nonx) and the driver feeling is pretty good. We all love our FXs and we would know there's a lot to appreciate about the FX, there will be a power difference and a handling difference but it really does feel like a G with a backpack.

Your current interior would be best compared to a 06+ FX since it is a little more updated than the 03-05. Whatever direction you choose to go, thanks for stopping by. :biggrin:
 
Wayne, i am assuming you already saw the 2nd gen FX, you're interested in a first gen FX correct? were you looking at a FX35 or FX45?

We were looking at a 08 FX35 with Tech package although the 09 would be nice.
 
Hi everyone, it's me again. I am now looking more seriously at used 07/08 FX35s. I would love an 09 but can't afford that.
We have been checking the lots and ads for a clean 07/08 with nav and low mileage for a while now. Just waiting until the rightone comes along.

As you know I made the switch from a 05x (35K miles) to an 07 FX loaded (15K miles). Do I miss the sedan? Actually...not really. The added space makes up for the speed difference. I plan on putting my MD spacer on the FX. I just need some new parts from MD. I may also do the Nismo exhaust if it doesn't drone. IMO, do it. You won't look back.
