deciding what to get next

I would say it's a positive. It just replaces the plenum spacer, kinda a step up from it, if the inside is polished.

It completely eliminates heat soak which is good if you wanna hit the track

but do you think after i already bought the spacer that it woulde be better to spend the money on a mod that does the same thing or spend the money on something else that will enhance something else.
i dont think its worth it.... i'd rather spend the 400 from a new plenum on say the shift kit for example
sorry all im doing is asking questions

i do have a plenum spacer (like the 6th item on my sig) 5/16th

that shift kit sounds interesting....how much more is the install and what exactly does it do..?

alot fo thsoe mods sound like what im looking for, but if i eventually dont go Fi do you really feel a difference when you have all of that done?

Missed the spacer - sorry.

The shift kit basically puts in a set of stiffer, bigger springs that pop valves open and closed almost immediately. OEM springs do the job, but are "tuned" to give the transmission a smoother transition from one gear to the next. They lag a bit. With a shift kit you will totally notice how the car moves from gear to gear more quickly - and in a totally good performance kind of way.

Since I got the transmission done my car has become ten times more fun to drive. I know I can rag on it - my NA engine can't hurt this tranny. And it responds with more zip in all aspects. I gaurantee that you drag race anybody with the same engine mods BUT without these tranny mods, you'd take them every time.

sorry to sort of ask the same question,

but how much does the $3000 you spent on that stuff really add? (if you were to never go fi) would you think it was really worth it..... also, how expensive is the install for that stuff....?

Its kool like i said tho for $260 it a great upgrade if your on the track the biggest prob is overheating/ running to hot so for that reason alone its a good option. The most important upgrade for running on the track is brakes. Like i was sayin i did 10 laps and the only issue was brake fade. A good BBK isnt cheap but for running on the track is the most important. I have drilled and slotted rotors with a high performance pad and thats prob the only reason i lasted as long as did. (Ill prob get some big 6 piston calipers next hopefully brembos) I know your looking for HP but if you cant stop HP is Useless on the track

I really like the Stillen light weight, underdrive pulley. I haven't any dyno proof, but it has to help to have a lighter weight pulley and turn all the accessories slower. I have zero problems with a/c, charging or anything at idle. Not too hard or expensive either.

yea i have rotora drilled slotted with ss brakelines
i understand its good for that but im not going to be tracking untill the summer probably because im at school now.......and alot of what ive heard is that theyre only good for fi, and i believe you that you can feel it but im not sure if i need another mod that essentially does something similar to a mod i already have...

Jumbo, do you drive in Auto or Manumatic? And how would your impressions of the shift kit change between the two?

i think in tiptronic
well atleast i do every time i drive.....

if you looked at my sig you would see that i have the unorthodox racing lightweight crank pulley (stillen bought them out so it is the same thing) i do not have underdrive though

that was the single mod where i felt the most

Kinteix SSV plenum is the one built for FI its like $700+ / didnt see the rotoras in your sig / What pads are you running?

yeah i forgot to add them (fixed)
i am running whatever pads came with them.. (hawk hps)?
and the SS lines that came with them

they are pretty good :)

im still kind of curious about the shift kit install.......... does tha tinvolve dropping the tranny? because im trying to avoid anything drastic like that unless im doing it all at once

are they ceramic?

im pretty sure ...but they dont have the initial bite that the stock ones had new....but thye are better in general
The SSV is crap. They came out with a new one though. Personally, I'd rather have this.

i wouldnt spend 1150 on that.....

but back to what i was saying....does anybody know how complex the install is for those othe rmods

So you have a Rotora BBK?

shit i totally meant rotorpro lol

also stu, i reviewed that thread...and most of it is the simple NA stuff that i already have, nothing about like jumbo's trans upgrades and stuff like that..

and the ones people said to get, i already have lol

sorry to sort of ask the same question,

but how much does the $3000 you spent on that stuff really add? (if you were to never go fi) would you think it was really worth it..... also, how expensive is the install for that stuff....?

How much does it add? In terms of Hp, not sure - never got a dyno.

Yes, it's worth it to me now just from the performance aspect, but the money thing wasn't an issue. I saved up for it, then did it all at one time. The installation costs were included in that $2800 - all parts & labor for the shift kit, internals upgrade, TC mod & transmission cooling.

If I never go FI, then I don't think there was a need for the cooling system or the torque converter. The internals upgrade and shiftkit or valvebody upgrade would be more specific to staying NA. If you did a stroker kit or new cams and nitrous or water-meth injection, I'd probably do the other transmission mods to be safe. There are also torque converters specific for NA engines. All depends what your end game goals are. All of mine have been made with FI in mind - but with the luxury feel. That's why I kept the tranny ECU and why I modded the core TC instead of replacing it.

You could look into wire tucking your engine bay. That's a DIY that will take a little research. No performance, but it looks good! Paint your upper plenum, paint some of the plastic OEM reservoirs, replace plastic harness clips with metal P-clamps... lots of projects for the sake of projects. Might scratch your itch to stay involved with your car and save you cash at the same time.

thanks! those are all really great ideas.............
i was thinking of starting a powdercoating thing since you can buy a powdercoater for around 65 so i was going to start powdercoating engine bay parts....

but that's the thing, i would rather spend time and money on performance rather than tucking my wires and stuff like that...little diys i was looking at included

the samco hoses and the engine damper (is that a diy?)

i'd rather do those as a diy rather than paint stuff, you know?

so i was looking at cams, like i said, plugs, pistons?, stuff like that. "small" engine stuff but that actually help.... not so much diys but would help more than painting something, you know?

how much would like...new cams or a stroker kit cost and would it even be worth it
and like i was looking at a ts tune/reflash but iim not sure if its truly worth the $500...does it even add THAT much? i can think of other things to put that money towards
