DDM Tuning HID Fog Light Kit

I've seen KNFX's setup... They look great.

For fogs, 3000K temp is probably street legal but HID kits in general are not street legal.

Why wouldn't 3k's be legal?
I've seen plenty of em...

Glad I got a hold of this thread. I was installing the DDM kit on my fogs this past weekend and after I connected everything, no light. I was like wtf. Thanks Stu for posting this, I hope it works when I retry.

Nice! Hope it works, too. I still haven't replaced my bulb and probably won't until it dies since it's lifetime warranty. I must say this kit holds up well. I'm pretty sure my ballasts are just sitting on the plastic underbelly because the double sided tape failed. Haven't had any problems so far (fingers crossed). I want to fix it one day though and mount them securely in the bumper support where I first tried to stick them.

These things are bullet proof -- I've had the same issue and ended up using zip ties instead. On one side I zip tie it to the frame, the other, I zip tie it to the other pack of wires.

the only problem i had with this kit is that the clip on the wire that connects the bulb to the ballast is misleading. you have to plug it in the other way for it to work instead of the way where the clip actually clicks (which one would intuition think its the right way but its not)

anyways thanks to those who contributed to this thread! love the HID fogs!

really? Mine clip the "right" way. On my silverado, I had to do exactly what you said, but I knew that the silverado had reverse polarity. BMW does this too.

interesting.. i installed two hid kits this past week and had to plug it in reverse for both. The first was the H8 for the fx, and the second a 9006 for a landcruiser... both are running the ddm slim ballast kit. when i tried it the 'right' way with both the hids would not come on. I'm going to order another 9006 ddm kit thats not the slim to finish up another car (can you say addicted hahaha) and see if changing the kit from the ddm slim -> ddm some other kit makes a difference

Do you mean this pmanliu? Connecting it so that it "clips" but does not work?

I haven't tried it connecting it the other way, but I'm hoping this will make it work.

yep, thats what i mean!

when i tried your configuration in the first pic it did not work. Was stumped as everything 'looked' right

the configuration in your second pic was the key and lights worked

I also chopped up a shopping bag and used some heavy duty tape to make the connections btwn wires water proof and also a little protection. Not necessary but my ballasts have probably fell off where i mounted them and are lying low somewhere D:

I feel you. I was up early sunday morning all excited to set up this hid fog up and after I connected everything, no lights! I tried connecting male to male, (lol) and everything else except I never consider fliping that one because it made sense to clip it in...until I read this thread. Don't have time to try it today, but will definitely try this week! Thanks all!

Yup, I came across that problem too. I plugged in the connection (posted above) the opposite way and it worked.

Me too.. But what I ended up doing was taking the plug apart, and switched the wires around. So I can still use the "clip" mechanism at the ballast. It's really simple, all you need is a paper clip to push the pin out and switch sides.

Hope this helps..

I have 6000K Heads and fogs from DDM installed, and I like the way it looks. Here are some night shots for your reference..
