DDM Tuning HID Fog Light Kit

they usually buzz when there not getting enough power, some cars need to use a relay cause they don't supply enough juice to the stock fogs & some cars require a module, like the bmw's, cause the bmw's are computer controlled & the computer needs to sense the bulb to turn it on, they need more power to ignite than they do to stay on, some guys have problems of them not starting unless the car is running & some have times when they might not start & need to be turned off & back on... stuff like that can usually be solved with a relay....

now you got me confused though, cause the wire I'm talking about is just a simple extension, they use that wire to extend the plug from at the headlight bulb, to outside at the ballast. there should be nothing in that wire, just an extension...

I don't know, that wire was different, and had some mesh wrap around it. Anyways, the look is alot better, but one of the foglights is putting out a greenish hue compared to the other. I don't know if there is something on the foglight cover or what, but it definitely has a more green look to it if you look close and on the ground. I will probably email them and see if it's an easy fix, but I don't want to have to send my bulb back first like I've heard of people having to do.

It doesn't work without that wire though. Unless I did something wrong when disconnecting it, but I doubt it.

my guess, it's 4500K (left) and 12000K (right) hid bulbs. call the vendor for a replacment set.

I'm already in touch with them about it. I just have to switch sides with the bulbs and ensure it is the bulbs that are faulty. I guess I could just lie and say I have switched sides, but if it still does that after replacement I just wasted alot of time. I need these done by next Thursday though for a roadtrip so I have non idea how this will work. Gotta try and get this crap sorted out fast. I have heard DDM sucks when you have to do replacements, and now I get to find out. :frown:

Had the same thing happen to me with a set of bulbs from them. They were 5k for a couple of months, then turned green just like yours.

They wanted me to turn in my bulbs before they sent out the new ones. I told them that this is my only car, my other lights are burnt out which is why I replaced them with your product, and I work at night so there is no way I can drive at night if I have no headlights. They sent me the new bulbs and in the box was the return shipping sticker.

I've returned 1 ballast and 2 bulbs over 3 years with 3 different kits on 3 cars..haven't had too much trouble with returning them....but I am more local than you so...good luck!

Greenish bulbs = bad bulb. Your going to have to have it replaced.

u can always order an extra set of hid bulbs on ebay. I have a 3000k and 6000k set, $25 each shipped back 3months ago and no issues whatsoever.

Ok, I just sent the email requesting a new bulb, as switching out housings did not affect the color. I told them that I am leaving for a roadtrip in a week and requested that the new bulb be sent with the return address. It seemed that the bulb was connected with everything else and could not be swapped out, so I assume I'm getting a whole new set up with bulb, ballast, igniter, etc. I also hope they can get this out since it's not 4pm yet in Cali.
Soon, I have all my spare bulbs in the little plastic cases the new ones came in just incase something goes wrong, though I wouldn't be able to replace the HID fogs. I just hope I can get these before my trip and they can at least last the trip, since I won't have my tool kit or floor jack in Aspen.
Anyways, these guys so far have been really good about helping me, and it's not like I expected these to be perfect. It's still China crap (no offense) even if the owner does travel over there to monitor quality. At least they give a good warranty.

I have some Xentec ($100). They work fine.
I got them from a local vendor....

I have the kit (alpha?? something) that nismokid was selling a few years ago (couple hundred I think..), still working strong.

I also bought a cheapy 50 dollar kit on ebay for my ex-wrx in 2007 and they were still working strong when I sold the car.

Heres another great company, I know a couple people running these and they havent had a problem to date.

$50 for a wire harness that includes a relay. This would be nice since it uses it's own power wires and not the factory wires. Would solve the KP fogs only problem with them sometimes not comming on wouldn't it?

Anyone know of a DIY write up for this same wire harness & relay?
or even a DIY write up for fogs only without using the KP?

HumbertoCali has done the fog light mod w/o using the KP unit. But I dont think he did a write up on it.
