Dashboard squeaks

Im not sure when it started, but I don't think it was too long ago. My dashboard has started to squeak. I guess there is some foam or something underneath the dash and its rubbing against something. I hear it on the passenger side around the airbag area. I can even press down on the dash and make it squeak a little.

My basic warranty coverage is expired, and the dealer said they would have to charge me the time it takes to diagnose the problem, which starts at $142. Does anyone know how to remove the dashboard? I am willing to try to figure it out myself if its not too difficult. Or do yall think this is something that is worth handing over to the dealer?
 
Remove the dash will be a PIA. I have the same problems for a long time. Since I just got my letter of the dash warranty extension. I will try to ask the dealership to honor the warranty of replacing the dash. Or i will just get a heat guy and try to create my own bubble for the warranty. :tongue (2):

I had this, they had to remove all the weather stripping and replace it. Basically from the heat, mine got dried up and was pretty much falling off. Makes sense since you're in Texas.

I spent almost $500+ in labor at the dealership as they had to remove the entire dash. I wouldn't have gotten it done if it didn't annoy my wife so much.
 
I'm one of those guys that hates rattles and squeaks and such. So this is really bugging me. This probably bugs me more than my stupid passenger seat that is closer to the armrest than the driver's seat. So close that it too squeaks when it rubs on the armrest.

But $500? I think I will just turn up the volume for now.
 
poorly established FX thats all i can say, mine pisses me off that i had to stick little pieces of hard flat objects to stop but time to time rattling comes an goes

Com'on, the dealership here in Vancouver told me that I will have to leave my car for 2 days for dash replacement. Imaging I will be paying $120 / hr for 12hrs of work.
