I guess it is time to replace the suspension parts on my FX. I now notice a low squeaking noise every time I hit a rough bump while driving. Before I used to drive with the radio on, so I never noticed it before. Today, I was trying to listen to see if my new wheel bearings was still quiet by driving with the radio off ,and noticed the squeak when I hit rough patches of road. It sounds like it is coming from behind the dash, but I am thinking it is my front struts. I do have 112k on the 04' FX, so they are over do for replacing. It might be suspension bushings making the noise, so I will change those as well. I like having a car that paid off, but I may have to step up my search for a newer FX though if I have to keep spending money and working more hours on the weekend keeping her running smooth. Do any one else notice a squeaking sound from the dash or suspension on rough roads or speed bumps?

Never mind. I seem to have fixed the problem this morning. The squeak seems to have gone away after I took a hard turn this morning. It was squeaking this morning, but after the turn the noise stopped for the rest of the drive to work. Now the my FX is as quiet as new, except for a few internal rattles here and there.:good: Maybe the springs or something moved while I had the FX jacked up to re-torque the bolts after changing my wheel bearings last week ,and resettled after making the hard turn.

Could be the upper strut mount. I think the stock one is prone to failing. Or it could be the dash itself, I get a squeak from my dash sometimes. It's just panels shifting since my suspension is very stiff.

Glad to hear the noise is gone but you mentioned you had 112k on the FX the manufacturers recommendation on shock and strut replacement is around 60k so if your still running the originals you might want to think about changing them out.

Yeah, i have to agree with you on that. The ride is softer than what it was when I first got her. However, it is actually more comfortable since the suspension soften a little. The 2004 FX45 sport suspension is brutally firm when new, I wonder how hard the 2003 FX45 suspension setup is, because I heard that they soften it in 2004,but my 2004 FX45 was setup very firm. I like the better handling when it was newer, but I do like it a little softer like it is now. However, I do think I may have to bite the bullet and replace the shocks and struts before they fail.
