CV Axles for FX35

It's been a while since my last post.

Has anyone replaced there CV Axles yet? I have a 2004 FX35 AWD with 192,000 miles on it. One of my front ones has gone bad. Not sure which one it is. However the OEM's are pretty expensive. Has anyone replaced them with a quality aftermarket one?

BTW - I'm getting a clicking sound when slowing down. It sounds like a classic CV problem. I removed the CV axles when replacing the wheel hubs. Since it was only a year ago...everything should come out pretty easy.

All you need to refill them with grease is one of these grease needles and a grease gun with graphite Grease.

If you do want to replace them though I would go with a set of remanufactured ones....

Anyone know what size the front drive shaft axle nut is. For some reason took my wheels off today to clean my coil overs and noticed it missing.

I replaced my cv axles about a month or two ago and they snapped again. I'm maxed out on coils. Is there any good brands out there other then oem that won't give me this problem. Don't wanna raise the car back up

.... U know that can't exactly be, the but is the only thing holding the axle to the hub. That normally means bad things. That but should be been held on with a cotter pin.

Too late now, looks like u got a new axle. But I was going to say many times, I've gotten new but with my axles and I would assume its a 32mm

You need boot broke/torn right?

Axles snapping isn't a common issue.

I've had friends go to axle shops to get a larger boot to allow for more flexibility. They also beefed up internals as well. But I'm doubtful there is any off the shelf answer to this because there just isn't many slammed or high power fx's around.

Raxles is a common company to talk to about getting u custom/ stronger axles.

I´m looking into this as well. Am maxed out at the rear also. Don´t have any issues yet outter then a tremble wich annoys me but due to my power level and ride height i want to do my homework in advange. I know there are companies offering some for the G/Z guys but the research i have done till now is that these are not compatible with ours......

Are they as crooked as Jeff's were frim the BC install DIY thread? What part is breaking on the cv's.

& how about some pics & Video runs. Dont think we've seen it run since the build.

Haha engine number 3 break in with 150 miles on it and clutch issues so not really finished yet buddy.....could you send me that link please ?

My front axles look like that, been that way for a few years now, nothing has broken yet. Rear axles don't quite have such an extreme angle and they're fine. But I don't make big power.

I've read the whole 48 pages thread again dave lol.....that filled up most of my evening yesterday haha. I read it a long time ago but am up-to-date again so to say. I have a RWD so at the front i won't have these issues...... the rear i haven't really looked at that.....will do that today as i have some engine work planned today. So i will look into that croockednes of them. Also i don't neccesarly believe the bucket mod will solve the cv problem....i thought it was more the camber issues it solved but didn't read the other thread turbo put the drawing in etc.......read that also some years ago.
I borrowed some Z axles from a buddy yesterday just to see how these are different from ours.....just to have an idea and feedback if i decide to go for custom stronger/lighter axles. But any feedback here is appriciated
