No apologies needed.. With I had more time to invest sin giving you that answer you were looking for...

Great to know that there are people who actually take the time and do a MOD.. WOW

Kudos to you... keep us posted...

Many thanks to Vlad and Chris at Weapon R. It will take at least one more week. Note that there was no time to add the nipples for the stock hoses, so don't worry they will be there. Also there will be a bracket made to hold it up. Parts from the shop were just used, so this was just made to test fit. So please hold for a more realistic prototype. Here are more pictures:

that looks really great. you've done great for our community so far with various projects (intake, y-pipe, etc). you are a really valuable member to the FX community:biggrin:

What's the word on the dimensions?

If you mean they are taking measurements, they took them today. They need to do it again next week when they have more time. I'm not sure if I answered your question Pierce.

Well i guess we will find out the specs next week. But I was trying to see if you knew the specifics like the tube sizing and number of pieces they are going to use for this kit.

Got it Pierce.

Note this 3.50" wasn't readily available, so this is 3.00" throughout. The Weapon*R team said that they have done extensive testing and you will not lose anything, it is the speed of the air flow that counts. But if you go from a stock 3.50" to a larger diameter, lets say 3.75" or 4.00" you will create a lean condition as they tried this on a G35/350Z.

I also did not want to create an entire tube so I can keep the stock MAF sensor tube. I didn't want to add any added risk of the MAF Sensor not inserting all the way, putting the MAF Sensor in a different position than OEM, to name a few. Also the fact that different year's FX45's have different MAF Sensor shapes (circle vs rectangle I believe) and this makes that obsolete.

My original thought was to create a "Z-tube" for FX45's and a JWT pop charger for FX45's. This is what came of it after Weapon*R's suggestions. They are great to work with, if anyone is in the area, I highly suggest them if you are looking for a custom intake. They can create any type of intake you want.

Also,

1 - elbow w/ factory nipples for hoses 3.00"
1 - MAF adapter 3.00"
1 - currently we are using a 3.00" opening Cone filter
All - couplers, brackets, etc... needed

I'm very happy with the design so far. Simple, looks nice, and it works.

Is there any serious interest in this other than myself?

I know price and more info is a big factor, which I won't have until next week.

I might be seriously intrested. I have been questioning what direction I might want to take..

A NOS is not that far off my mind. More cold air is good in my case.. a 70 shot would be good for me....

Same wheels, same intake... what's next?=)

Oh man, those center caps take forever to take off, each individual bolt....

Ed - flip your Antenna forward - hahaha!

I know that increases horsepower, but what about torque?

I've seen the "mod" of cutting it and making it shorter. Maybe I'll make a it true Rhino and make a horn out of fiberglass=)
