Custom Exhaust (True Dual)

Let me just start by posting a link to the Fast intentions 2.5" True Dual Exhaust.

I love the look and layout. I hate the price. Aluminized $1,199 SHIPPED

I was looking into Dynomax products. I figured I could have a local shop fabricate the same basic design for less than half the price.

I am looking at this x-pipe / muffler.

And then these mufflers for the back end. The 6" round by 16" length.

The shop I was looking into does not have a mandrel bender. I was thinking about going with 2.5" diameter pipes.

What do you guys think about it?

That FI exhaust is sweet. If you stick 2.5" and pressure/crush bend, you'll have spots that are less that 2.5" depending on how severe the bend is. Since I'm pretty sure they're using alumninized steel (correct me if I'm wrong), and you're in Indiana, the exhaust will probably last you 2-5 years. I'm guessing total cost out the door with labor/parts will be around $500. Stillen will cost you roughly $1,300 installed and last you most likely the life of the car.

I'd go 3.0" tubing if possible, as I believe the FX35's with Nismo (3.0") have no power loss. FX45 don't have an issue with 3.0" either.

To each their own, I think going custom is fun and you'll have a one of a kind exhaust. You can even just go cheap and add a straight pipe and flowmaster and it opens up real nice (roughly $150-$200 installed).

Or can I convince you to HKS, as I'm biased since I own one. There is a place in IL that will do a custom Stainless Steel exhaust, but ball park is $1,000.
