Cupholders: Am I Missing Something?

Hey guys, I picked up a 2007 FX35 awhile back and I feel like I'm missing some portion of the console cup holder.

It's pretty much wide open and doesn't hold any cup that I've used so far. They all topple over in the slightest turn.

Is there some sort of insert or something that I am missing that I should have?

This is driving me crazy.
 
Is there a removal insert? I'm not sure if there is one on the 06-08 FX models but the 03-05 models do have a removal insert in the cup holder. You might be missing that insert piece.
 
On my 06' there is an insert in the center that has semi circles on both sides for cups. If I removed it water bottles or cups would be all over the place.
 
My 04 has a removable cup holder insert and if I take it out it fits a large gatorade bottle

What sucks is that the dealership stole my cup holder insert.
I paid for a showroom detailing two years ago and when I got the car back, the insert was missing.
So I went back and asked them, they went to go look for it but "couldn't" find it.

So they gave me another cup holder, looks the exact same except it's a bit smaller, so I believe not all 1st gen FX's have the same sized cupholder. I'm still pissed about it.
 
My spring broke in mine. I just permanently fixed it in an upright position by using some "Shoe Goo" along the seam of the hinge on the back side.

I am thinking of just making a complete custom insert to drop in this hole instead of the factory one.

My dealer stole mine 3 times, and when i was out of warranty they never replaced it. I just dont understand why would they steal it. I thought i was crazy and the only one with this problem but i was wrong

It is almost impossible to get the insert alone and the whole cup holder cost is also very expensive. So stealing it is a fast way to gain some money cause a lot of people is looking for them, including me
