Crazy Climate Control problem

After swapping out my dash, I realized that the climate control is acting weird.

If I put the AC on, and put the temp at either 60 or 61, it blows cold.

As soon as I put the temp to 62 or higher, it blows HOT.

Obviously I screwed something up but not sure what. I removed the front panel and re-checked connections, all looks good. The end of the small ribbon cable seems a bit tweaked but it securely in the panel's clip.

I'm stumped! Any ideas before taking to dealer?

thanks

This is what happens when the temp sensor to the right of the steering wheel isn't plugged in. But if it is plugged in, the cable may indeed be damaged.

Check the connection to the temperature sensor behind the driver side knee panel on the right side near the center console.

thanks guys, I will check and report back

darn, took the panel off, re-checked that temp sensor connection, it is solid. Also blew the rubber hose out with air next to it, still blows hot at 62 :(

Also, I think that the ribbon cable I mention in OP is for the radio, not the climate, so I am out of ideas.

ok thanks. I just replaced my wife's heater core (should have shot myself in the head instead!!!!!!), put it all back together, and now something's F'ed up. The fan blows but not really from the vents the way it should. Just got the compressor charged today. About to go home and tear into it again. She's getting real pissed and I'm trying to get it fixed. Not to mention that I fouled up the clock spring in the steering column when it was out...auuuggghh!!! I've worked on cars for 30 years and this heater core and subsequent issues job has been the roughest yet.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, anyone ever fix this problem, set to 60 blows cold set to 63 or higher blows hot.
Car is only a week old, looks like a trip back to the dealer already uugg.

You did check to make sure the hose was connected right? This problem will occur if you remove the under dash panel and do not put the hose back onto the hose connector on that panel. It will blow hot air regardless of actual temp or settings.

It dropped off at the dealer this morning, but I had a remote start installed last wed and I bet its something they did, we will see when the wife picks it up this afternoon.
It was to new for me to start taking dash panels off myself.
Thanks for the reply
