Couple of questions on my FX35.

I'm about to do some things to my FX but I have a couple of questions;

1...When i bought my truck in August I noticed that my two front tires were like new and my rear ones would need changed after a while. I'm going to get two new tires for the rear and I was thinking about going with the 275-45-20. Would that be odd with 265-50-20 in the front? I think i would like it if it lowered my back a little bit.

2...If nothing comes up this week I'm taking my 20" oem wheels to the paint shop to get painted. I'm undecided on whether I should go with gloss black or satin black. What do you guys think?

3...Has anyone replaced their oem foglights with LED bulbs? I want to change my fog light bulbs, I really like the HID lights but they can be a headache at time. (Well they gave me problems in my Dodge Charger) Maybe it was the car.

I have the led in my fogs. It's not as bright as regular halogen. The only plus it is that it draws very little power and that it should theoretically last longer.

IMO just get regular white halogen if u dint want to go hid

Thanks for the feedback!

If you don't want to deal with HID fogs, but want something better than OEM H8 bulbs, try Höen xenon match.

I currently run these, they are much whiter than stock, but do not really match my 6000K headlights, so i upgraded to 6k foglights for it to match better. Overall, the
Höens are really nice for direct replacement, but going HID is the best route to go in my opinion.

with 275/45/20, you will have less sidewall which will contribute to increase in the gap in the wheel well, there you should definitely lower the car for a better look, the difference however shouldn't be that noticeable. but if you do find that it looks weird, then put the new wheels in the front.
what's the color of your car? try to match the wheels with the same color, don't paint it white or red though..:tongue (2):..i prefer gloss black to be honest.
it's the life of the LED's that's the part to worry about. other members have done that so may be they can help you with this mod.

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to end up doing...The prices of a lot of the bulbs you're better off going with the HID's.

My car is black and I'm leading toward the gloss black. I saw a black x6 with gloss black wheels last night and it was nice. Also I was parked next to an X6 at Cosco and I was comparing the wheels on the x6 and I thought they looked bigger. It turns out that they where 20's. They looked bigger because the tires where smaller.

The reason the X6 wheels "look" better or bigger is because they are wider wheels and lower profile tires. Could be up to 10" width on those wheels. The X6 up front is 275/40R20 and in the rear is 315/35/R20. So the resulting look is going to be really nice. For our FX's, our 8" widths and different tire sizes compared to the X6 is very limiting. We cannot get 315s on our stock 20's. I also felt this was a downer for our FX's and I intend on fixing that with coilovers and 22s with at least a 9.5" width in the future.

As for the Höens, they cost more than a set of 6K foglights from DDM Tuning. The DDM kit includes the ballasts too. So might as do the upgrade to HID and save some money. Plus the Höens were even whiter than the stock 4300K HIDs in our cars, which is why I went to 6K.
