a couple weeks ago I noticed my temp gauge moving up, pulled over to check the engine and saw my coolant running low... luckily I was right by my job and a friend brought me some coolant... everything seemed fine... a week later I decided to check the coolant and saw close to a quarter left... maxed it again checked 3 days later and close to half was gone... figured I may have a leak or something so i took it to the shop... they found no leaks, changed the radiator cap, lifted the car to remove any air bubbles etc, they found nothing wrong (this was on 07-15-09)... noted coolant at max... checked today and it was half gone... is this a normal thing? i know its hot in the valley... but this hasnt happened to me before... with any car... any suggestions on what to look for or what it may be?

If this happening then there must be a leak somewhere. Do you see any water residue under the engine bay? Where did you take the FX to get it checked for leaks?

I wonder if it's possible you somehow don't have the right formulation of coolant, and it's evaporating quicker. Or maybe a line is kinked or running near a really hot part of the engine. I would let it run for a few minutes with the belly pan off and check for leaks just in case.
nah... no white smoke that I've noticed...but i will try and lookout for that a little more just in case...
nothing that i've noticed... I've been checking often just to see... I took my car to Precision Z in Canoga Park... even left it there overnight so they could check for leaks while it's cold so they could pressure test... still nothing...
when i first noticed, i just filled it up with some 50/50 mix of prestone... been using that bottle since and just ran out last night... have to get some more today after work...
this sucks... but thanks for the response guys... if any other suggestions/tips/something to look for let me know...
on a good note though... found out my H&R's are being delivered today!
