confused about offset

I am looking into getting http://www.ebay.com/itm/281062072950?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649, to have a summer and winter setup. The offset on these are 43, and on the oem 08 it is offset 50, I believe. Now my question is, with the 43 offset, is the wheel going to be a) more sunken in , b) poking out past flush, or c) very close to flush. And, if someone can quickly explain offset to me, that would be greatly appreciated.

The OEM wheel offsets are +40. With the +43 on the wheel you want to get, it will actually be slightly more sunken in than the stock setup.

read the thread, kinda get it. Still a little confusing. I guess if I saw all the numbers on a picture or diagram, I can visualize it better.

I took pictures from another thread. Lets say those wheels have +40mm offset all around:



after installing the 25mm spacers, the new wheel "offset" will be +25mm(40mm-15mm=25mm):




You can clearly see how the wheels are flushed with "+25mm offset" compare to +40mm.

Your math is reversed on the third picture, right. Otherwise I dont understand how 25mm spacers work.
