cold start problems

The good news for me is that with -16 temps outside, my baby started up without any issue.

This cold got to my FX the other day. If i let the FX sit in the garage for a few cold days, it does that cold start up issue. If i start it up once a day, it doesn't do it. Seems as though sitting for a few cold days does something to maybe the AC Amp. I'm curious whats going to happen tonight here in NY when the temp goes below zero.

i started it today and it started up no problem. tmororw should be a different story as it will get -30c

Guys. Mine started doing this on weekends (while not in use for a couple of days). After that it did it everyday. Just imagine going late to work and the FX wont start afte 4 to 5 cranks.... Anyway. I changed the AC amp like a year ago. The issue was resolved inmediatelly and never came back

We all know the cold start issue, but I notice on my fx besides the cold start issue, is if its warm and the fx sits for a week, it does the cold start syndrome. Sputters like nuts and then smooths out.

I live in Puerto Rico. Here is not warm, it's hot. The "cold start" issue is when you let it sit for more than 1 day

And everytime will be more frequently, and eventually so anoying that you will be more than happy to pay the huge ammount of money that the ac amp cost. And what makea me angry is that Infiniti assures never heard of this issue

Hey gang, I got an issue here. I've read through most of this post and am having a similar issue but not sure if it's the same. I've had a few bouts of hard starting that sounds just like the video posted but I always assumed it was flooded or something cause I let off the starter just a second too soon before it had fired up and it was normally after the car had been running already not sitting overnight. 2 weeks ago my FX wouldn't start at all. Strong starter but just not starting. Figuring it was the battery I replaced it and everything was fine. Also noticed a slightly rough idle for the last month figured that was associated with the battery being old. This morning I drove the car for 30 minutes, did a few stop and go errands and then at my last stop after sitting for 15 minutes it wouldn't start again. Seemed like the exact same issue. It would turn over real quickly and a few times almost seemed like it was ready to catch, like a sputtering but eventually no dice. Took the battery out figuring that was the culprit again and took it back to the store figuring it was defective or my alt was not up to snuff. They ran a test on the battery and it was 100% charged and good to go. Take the battery back and reinstall and it still won't start. Still just turning over but no fire. I read a little and someone says to give it 10 seconds in the on position for the fuel pump to prime. I do that and it fires right up this time. Coincidence? I dunno. All the symptoms seem to be just like everyone else but the 2 big differences are that I'm in Hawaii so cold weather isn't a factor (78 degrees this morning) and the fact that I had been driving it prior to this happening instead of it sitting overnight. Anyone have any input?

I'll try check those first. Fuel pump was my first thought too but a friend of mine said to check cam and crank sensors. I figured i'd get a code from those though

Hard start when cold

When car is cold, it is very hard to start. Ill go out and have to sit there and crank it 3-4 times before it will start. The colder it is, or longer its sat, makes it worse. When it finally does start, it sputters and finally "catches" up to itself and runs normally. Only happens when the temp is under 40 degrees. Never any issue with warmer weather. No codes stored. Had a few people say fuel pressure regulaor, fuel pump, leaking injectors, but no definitive advice on which way to go. I use top tier gas and rarely ever let it go below half-tank.

I suspect battery. Hook up a battery maintainer and see if you have the same problem after a very cold night.

Leaking injectors will make your garage smell like gas. You can check pressure with an inline pressure gauge. I would also look into a battery with higher cold cranking amps.
