Chrome Door Pillars

No pix but I saw some on a Copper FX in a parking lot yesterday.

The 1st gen 03-05 did not include chrome window trim, but 06-08 had it as an option. Depending on which trim package you have, the pillars could match really well or could be too much. I think it's the kind of thing you just can't know until you put them on and try it out. Definitely post some pictures up too so others can see it and decide for themselves if they want to make the mod.

How do they attach to the pillars? Double sided tape?

i have a 2006 with black trim right now. the black window pieces are a bit faded so i figured the chrome pillars might make it less obvious, maybe. i think if i had chrome trim already it may be overkill.

ya its just double sided tape that holds it on.
 
It is not really my style but I think the pillars will stand out and look odd with the black around the windows, in my honest opinion it would need the chome trim from factory to not look slapped on.

well it already has a mix of black/chrome if u think about it... the door handles are chrome, the roof rack is black(non sport), the bottom panel(06+) has a huge chrome strip with black right below it. the black would fade more into the windows i think and the chrome would pop more.

ya i already ordered them. i figured it was just something different. i always liked how it looked on the cayennes. plus i thought it would compliment the chrome wheels once i put them on.

here is what they sort of look like. they dont suit the copper orange color much but my car is diamond graphite grey? or whatever the fx grey is, and i've got the stock 20's, not chrome though.

got the pillars they look to be of good quality. i have not installed them just yet, still debating. i will post some pix soon though, at least of a dry fit.
 
Not my taste if you ask. I would go for the factory chrome over this anytime. This just don't look they belong. It's like a tiny little Civic with these HUGE whale tails, yuk. Sorry, just my opinion. The final saying is always yours. Have fun.

+1. That's the reason you don't see that many FX's with them on. But it's your ride and if you like them then go for it.

+2, I think it's too much chrome, and it stands out like a sore thumb. But that is just me, it's whatever you like. That's what makes everyone's ride unique.
 
+3. The chrome pillars would really split up the greenhouse of the car. The FX has a nice dark outline of the glass for the side profile and the chrome pillars would break up the flow of the profile. It's an eye sore. If you haven't already, tint the front windows and it would look much cleaner. Return them while you still can! :wink (2):
