choosing the right USA-Spec

Hey Gang,

I have the stock FX35 '07 stereo with no Nav.
it has SAT which is plugged in the rear cargo area.

On the Crutchfield site, it says the USA-SPEC "Must not have factory Satellite radio tuner."
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_581PA15NIS/USA-Spec-iPod-Interface.html?tp=120

I thought that with the SAT, the ipod will show on the FX LCS, and without SAT it just wouldn't show onscreen.

Am I looking at the wrong thing, or is Crutchfield incorrect?

thanks

I'd love to know this as well. I recently tried a PAC NIS-2 which I was told would work in my '07 FX. But unfortunately it does not and the reason I was given was that since the radio doesn't have a satellite button (radio button toggles to satellite), it was incompatible.

Wow... I wouldn't have considered that.
I don't have the SAT button either.. Radio toggles from AM / FM / SAT.

Anyone out there with the USA-Spec and no SAT button?

And of course the original question of what model to get with stock SAT

I know there's a NIS and an INFI model of the USA spec

Hey Gang.
Looking to keep this topic fresh... would love to her some input. Afraid to buy the wrong unit, so I'm hanging out to see what you all think.

Thanks

So have you tried the NIS15 yet? I'm still seeing if anyone knows for sure. I'm too lazy to buy another PAC and install it without knowing for sure that it will work. Especially after all the assurances I got that the NIS2 would work. I still see shops advertise that it will work with the '07 and tell me that if my '07 had a SAT button, it would work. Funny how '07's never had a SAT button.

Anyone want to tell me where in the back is the SAT module? I have an 05 with the SAT button on the radio. Hopefully I will be installing my USA Spec this weekend.
