Chip tuning...is it worth it?

I would like to know if it is worth it? Has anyone done it yet even on the older models. The chip is from the deutsch manufacturer SKN. Power gain is 18 HP and 25Nm or 17.70 lb/ft.

I am sure they are not so famous in the US but in Europe they are pretty strong on the market. My question was if is it woth it? I mean should i put it or not? Has anyone done this mod even on the older models?

I'd be worried about getting a check engine light or screwing up your stock computer... they are pretty expensive.
