I know I am late but congrats man!! Now that you have a vdub are you going to slam it and join the stance movement? How about a VR6 swap? I hang around too many VW enthusiasts...
 
Im (wife's car) in the mini van club also lol we have a 08 Ody Touring. already modding it haha (Pilot front brake swap, running boards, ZDX wheels)

good luck with the Routan, I hope it doesnt drive like a Chrysler Town and Country. I had one for a week as a rental and noticed a a heavy torque steer jerk.

Mini vans are cool :ninja: lol
 
Ed, you should really consider tinting all of the windows. That greenhouse is huge and will cut down a lot of the heat transmission over time and keep your family cool. :wink (2):
 
Maybe just the front two. The rears are tinted -- if I need them darked, they all have pull up shades!

WeatherTech for 3 rows and cargo liner + shipping + taxes = $400+!!!!

That's just insane. I'll go for the OEM rubber mats for less than 1/2 the price.

It does (torque steer), but the suspension was overtuned by VW.

Much different feel.

Yuo sorry to see the FX go but like was said you gotta do what you have to to adapt to changing needs.
I did it the other way around and waited till my 5 kids were out of the house before decididing to get anything nice like my FX because be warned kids can destroy anything:tongue (2):. And by waiting I didn't get the can I have the key's to the FX tonight Dad:eek.:I used have a mini van as well when the kids were little-----

Guess we go full circle because when I was a teenager I wanted a van like the one below but my parents knew why I wanted it "shag wagon" and shut me down.----

Check out the difference between the WeatherTech and OEM (Monster Mats) floor mats, WeatherTech has much more coverage and having black, grey and tan color options (my leather is grey) vs OEM only comes in black.

:smile (2): Ed, are you looking for justification on speeding $400 on floor mats. I think you got our votes from the start. I know spending $400 on floor mats sounds crazy, but it well worth it. Especially, when the oem ones is $100 less. Wait until the kids pour a whole bottle of fruit punch in the car and the Weather Tech catches them all. You will say aaaahhh, I'm glad I got the WeatherTech. Back then I spent $200 on WeatherTech all weather mats. I would spend on the WeatherTech Floorliner now in a heartbeat, but my kids are much older now.
 
I'm not sure what you guys are talking....my kids will be excellent...and they will have 4 go pro cameras on their heads so I can see everything from my iPad.
