Chedman13's 2011 Volkswagen Routan SEL Premium

Nice, purchase Ed getting ready to grow that family. You are a better man then I; I almost purchased a 700+ horsepower Supra in WI. Wife would have killed me, hope to see that new whip soon.

But you would have been a hero among the iS fam.

I know right! I'm still eyeballing it. My wife said and I quote: "You will kill yourself in that car.We still need to buy a house." lol My wife really know how to kill a man's dream. One of these days I'm going to say I'm buy that Supra end of conversion all while I'm holding my balls. Not in a symbol of showing who is the man, but as a safety precaution that she might KICK them to bring my down to earth.

This may be the best comment typed out on an iPad. Ever!

Ed, I thought you were eying the JX? You said yourself it's a perfect family vehicle, plus the reliability, luxury, etc without a minivan type look.

One week Range Rover, another QX, another hybrid, another JX, and now minivan....one more week and it would have been a GTR....you should have waited one more week!!!! :)))

I know you've been on/off idea of selling the FX, so congrats on finally getting it done. I'm sure you are happy having moved forward.

Once you see the price, features and gas mileage of a mini-van, there really is NO comparison vs. a SUV.

I was lying to myself all this time (I knew this already), but when I finally saw the mini-van in person -- I knew it was the perfect family car.

You don't live in Chicago, but another key factor was sliding doors -- in Chicago, everyone parks so close that you can barely open your door. This is critical since you have to open the door a good amount to get a baby out.

Although I hate vans, you give some valid reasons to go for it, you made the smart decision :top:

Ed said it right on. Minivan is the ultimate family car. Sliding doors and power hatch is must have. In Chicago, AWD is the must have to me too.

It may not be as sexy, but you cant argue against the utility and practicality of the minivan. When it comes to space and convenience, it just works.

Just bought another minivan.

I am going to return one though:). This one has HID and fogs, also 5 yr warranty.

Congrats on the quick upgrade. I can't image what is coming up next! There just be something crazy in the drinking water out there! :smile (2):

Wow Ed, that was on quick upgrade! Hope you the front license plate is on the lower black grille.

Coils and BBK - first mods on any Chedmobile. There's probably room in that thing for a pretty kick ass stereo system as well...

Does it have the swiveling second row captains chairs? Are we going to get some decent interior pics anytime soon?

I hear ya Ed....I'm sure things will change even more so once we have our daughter and eventually plan to have more.

So are you going to start minivanscene.com? That domain is available. GET IT NOW! I'm sure I'll join within a few years! :))))

The VW Routan kind of reminds me of my mom's Chrysler Town&Country from a side view at least.
