Chedman13's 2003 FX45

Yes, thanks. I am leaving the Bose subs as is.

When time is right, I will add a quick connect wire with small box I can add/remove easily. Adding box and connecting will disconnect bose and bypass. Remove box and wire, goes back to bose.

Did you fix your series/parallel wiring issue? If so did you notice a difference in output from the Bose sub?

Doing the wiring for the Audivox, add on alarm to stock remote + CarLink for the time being. Will report back.

I think series + grounding sound stream as you mentioned will have a big impact.

Little tired of LED's went with filament bulbs (or whatever you call them):

Check out the difference in piping, you can tell from how much closer it is the to GTSpec Bars:

Unfortunately, the prototype exhaust sounds exactly like stock, maybe even more quiet. The benefit though is better flow (3.0"), lighter, quality tig welds, 304 stainless, better mandrel bends, titanium tips, perfect fitment around GTSpec, bolt-on, reverse compatibility with OEM parts.

For me, sound trumps any loss by going back to a 2.5" HKS due to the amazing sound HKS produces.

So back on goes the HKS. Anyone looking for a quiet/OEM type sounding exhaust?(probably not many except old men like Lance:wink:)

Nice decal. I can't wait to replace these on my 3 weeks old WeatherTech Floor Liners :tongue (2):.

ha, I like quiet too, ever since I put the headers I always felt it was just too damn loud... can't see any reason why I would want to here my exhaust while traveling down the highway, the drone can get annoying. a car don't have to be loud to be fast, I love to laugh at the idiots who's car buzz like a lawn mower yet can't even get out of there own way while doing so, I want my quiet back :smile (2):

Wow, was considering rolling out an exhaust sympathy comment and then I see this...... Don't make me fly out and grapple with you man =)

Obviously dialing in an exhaust is NOT easy, such an issue of personal preference. Part of me missed my Invidia the moment I fired up the Nismo but as soon as I took the RPMs over 1,500 the sound was awesome, Stealth exhaust.....really looking forward to the headers and seeing what happens with the sound.

Was wondering if you would catch that, good to know you still read these since you're so busy in meetings.

I wonder how much work it would take to adapt it to my car...

You can take the rear section and take it to Nortown on North Avenue (close to Ashland).

My cousin can do it, but he and I both wouldn't recommend bringing it there because it's stainless steel. Nortown is a little pricey but they are the only shop I know except GRD that can weld stainless steel and not use aluminum fillers that fall off after 1 year.

It really is quiet, I felt like I was driving a Prius and needed noise makers for people to hear me coming.

John -- I would recommend HKS for you then, just use OEM mid pipe and get the rear section. It'll have sound when you want it and silent at other times.

I think Andy can vouch for the sound, how loud it is when you are at WOT, but silent at other times. He was quite shocked how mild it was actually.

Yup, the HKS is nice and quite during normal cruising and it get that nice throaty rumble when I stomp on the pedal.

I think the exhaust tone has a lot to do with how the car is tune too. As I experience with different Unichip maps, I do notice the tone change from map to map. The most noticeable in tone changes is when I was running with the original maps that came with the chip. Now with the 350Z maps, it a bit louder and deeper rumbles.

Is it cheaper through them here directly than online?

Same as online. I went there because I didn't want to wait. Ship it out of state, no sale tax & free shipping too.

chedman13 would you be able to guide me through buying parts for the oil catch can mod that you've done?
I started off looking at this from the org to the scene and with too much info and too little info on the 45
I am so confused on what i should get.... I am not trying to master it but i guess having something would be
better than nothing.... I also have a fx45 2005 .... jumbo's thread and diagram was just too confusing for someone
like me ^^ so can you if possible supply with the link on what to purchase? and i heard that we 45's have 2 pcv valve so we
needed some y hose to pull them in together? i am so conffused... thank you so much in advance...!!
