Chedman13's 2003 FX45

Damn Ed! you are a modding mad man these days! LOL
Good luck with everything. I like those speakers, may have to get those in the future but m oem are still good as new....for now (knock on wood), hahaha

Lots of modding Ed, wow. You're bit by that bug that's for sure. I got nothing going on, but seeing you do all this is keeping me busy lol.

Audio build is a work in process.

Doing it right, and want this to be a stealth build, i.e. OEM look.

Not putting in $3,500 speakers, but not putting in crap either. Simply upgrading using the stock head unit and better speakers than stock (clearly visible from the pictures).

Focus is for people sitting in the front -- higher end speakers going in the doors, front dash and rear speakers are upgraded, but just good enough to "keep up" with the components in the front door.

Amp is going to be hidden so no cargo space is lost or the spare tire. Most likely going with with alpine 5 channel and the kicker processor.

Will do some small touches like re-finishing grille covers to silver/grey to make it stand out just a little. Maybe tan to match the headliner?

Part list is TBD -- once it's figured out what works/fits best and in budget.

ED - WTH has gotten into you man?

Don't forget, full parts list on the stereo boss....=)

Ha, this is what happens when you leave...

I will do a full write-up for everyone and review. Absolutely no comparison OEM vs Alpine (even the lower end Alpine) speakers. You can just tell by looking at them.

I had a coupon.
I bet the coupon must have pic of spider instead of Megan Fox; otherwise, I wouldn't have miss the coupon. I need to start reading the fine prints. Can't wait to see & hear all this come together Ed. Now you need a 17" wide screen flip down monitor to complete the package.

Just in -- 2003 Infiniti FX35 fan (2003-2008).

Okay, all I can say at this point is how it looks -- won't know for sure until I actually hook it up and run it.

It looks similar to what Lance has. The only catch was that they didn't include a harness, so I will have to pick a FX35 fan harness up, not a big deal.

So today is another day and trying to figure out how to get HD Radio into the SAT button.

http://www.axxessinterface.com/

Thinking of:
Axxess AHDI-I01
Axxess XIAH-NS1
Axxess AHDT-01

I like http://www.pac-audio.com/ better for some reason, but they only say 2004-2007 and 2003 won't work. I even called and they said it won't.... but I think they're wrong... (part number ISNI571).

Also would add an AUX in, since I am not an iPhone/iPod user.

Not sure about HD Radio though. Digital signal to analog so not really digital throughout. Should be better than analog FM/AM?

I still am probably one of the rare that still buys CDs so I can have quality, non-compressed music.

This GROM stuff (sheesh Andy/Andrew -- yet another mod you never told me about, thanks guys:rofl:) looks cool too. Especially the USB one and adding bluetooth (for music only, not phone calls).

I wonder if I could add a massive external USB harddrive with MP3's -- that would be nice.

Any thoughts on the above audio guys?

Chedman's build. Probably feeling like that right now. Cant wait to see & HEAR the new tunes

Not what I intended, but most things were taken apart, so became "might as well..."

Assuming a perfectly received signal, analog radio will sound better. I still buy CDs, but I also still buy albums on vinyl... :dontknow:

Just out of curiosity, why do you prefer HD radio over sat radio?

I try to avoid anything with a reoccurring fee.
