Chedman13's 2003 FX45

Finally -- 4 point ladder brace installed as well as front lower engine brace. No more GTSpec braces to buy!

No pictures of front lower engine brace, too hard to get a good picture.

I just got the ladder put on yesterday. Those two bolts were a bitch. I guess I'm missing the STB, but I don't feel the need to upgrade.

How is the drive......

Let us know Ched..

Pretty unreal -- combination of Stillen STB, H&R's, aggressive offset, full front and rear GTSpec braces, the car feels almost nothing like a SUV.

Everything is very stiff, you feel the road a lot more, which is a positive to me. It's easy to feel a difference by just swinging around a corner the car just squats and grips.

Almost feels like a go-cart vs stock. Even the technican who put the front engine brace on said he was amazed in the difference when he took it for a test drive before and after.

I think the front engine brace did more to stiffen it up than the 4 point ladder brace, but hard to tell. I had the 4 point ladder brace on first, then the engine brace later.

GTSpec braces go up there on top mods after H&R springs.

Now that suspension mods are done, brakes are next... Did you want to trade my OEM calipers for your rotora's on my birthday? =)

Another happy customer. They make a huge difference in control dont they?
Squat & grip? lol . . basically, no more understeer

Ha, I'm not a racer -- I'll make up my own terminology:wink:

It's nice to do a mod where you can actually feel the difference. Not like an air intake where you "think" it's faster=)

Squat & grip works, lol
IMO, & for the most part, I think that's what it corrects.
Stiff chassis is always a benefit in the handling dept.

Well I guess this is something that I need to get then... I have been debating on when to get it...

As for the brakes... sure... no problem. Only if you throw in a a years supply of the G3 Caliper Paint...:wink::laugh:

Today was a wheel and tire adventure. How many wheels and tires can you fit in a Chevrolet Silverado? 8 wheels, 4 wheels/tire mounted set, and 4 tires.

It took me a while, but finally got wheels that will clear the FX50S/G37S brakes without spacers.

Luckily the tire pressure sensor fits perfectly. The normal valve stem is supposed to be longer, but you can still reach the valve stem.

Also, found some aftermarket sensors that were a lot cheaper (removable valve stems, which I didn't put on yet):

Decided on getting the highest tread wear rating tire I could find, amazingly they are rated 500 A A so not giving up on traction and are all season.

Next, time to swap the winter tires from the OEM 20" wheels to the new winter wheels:

O.Z. Canyon ST Bright Silver Paint -- great finish for winter. 20" x 9.5" +40 mm offset. Will be running 265/50/20 Hankook I Pikes.
