Check Engine Light + VDC OFF

Guys/Gals,

I got into my car this morning and the engine dinot turn over right away. I tried it again and it started but the Check Engine light and VDC Off light are now on. I started and restarted a few times and the VDC was no longer there but the check engine light is. So I went to lunch a minute ago now the're both on!!!?!?!?!?!? :embarrassed:

Anyone ever see this? I just got a royal purple oil change 2mos ago and it's been running great. I haven't had time to put my new belts on yet and the old ones have cracks. Could the failure to turn over be a slip issue causing the engine light and VDC to stay on?

Any input would be great.
 
It could be alot of things. There are also alot of threads on this. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a few.
 
Take it in to an auto parts place and ask them to pull the codes for you. Post up the codes or do a search once you have them.
 
Royal Purple 5W30? How many bottles? Mine takes 6 full bottles. May be not enough engine oil?

You should replace your old belts as well. But if you can post the code, guys here will be able to help you out.

I take it each of the bottles is not a full quart?
