CD Changer Problems

Hey Guys,
First thread here. I've seen some other people with a similar problem. Not completely identical though.
My 06 FX35 has the Bose System in it, with the 6 Disc Changer. It's been great since I bought it. However, now, I tried ejecting a disc, and no matter which disc slot it is, it won't pop out. I can Hear it working inside the device, but It just wont pop out the disc. It almost sounds stressed. Lots of repeating noises. Almost like something is blocked. There is one slot open, but I'm afraid if I fill it, I will never get the disc back.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

LOL.. I actually did a fix for this.
Dealer wouldn't replace it under warranty and the car was only A YEAR OLD.
It's a somewhat ghetto fix, but nobody will know because it's under the front panel.

I'll write up a DIY when I have the time, since I'm really occupied with finals, at the moment.

Wow, thats kind of a let down. My dealer has been nothing but good to me in literally everything. I hope they don't dis me on this!
That is, if your DIY doesnt fix it for me.
But, uh, thanks man. I'm pressed and busy with finals as well. :\ This is just so irritating, need it fixed

That's my post about when I did it. The problem was the rod wasn't pushing far enough.. therefore, my CD slot wouldn't open... like it was stuck.
I couldn't remove discs nor insert discs.

But try to make a video about what's going on and I'll tell you if the same thing happened to mine.

Btw, welcome to :iS:!

Thanks man. Looking forward to contributing in the future.
So it's just telling me to eject the disc, and only the one that its stuck on. (5) It used to do that to all of them, now it will only let me use slot (5) and it tells me to eject. Much help appreciated.
Here's a video showing the problem...
for youtube->> cant post links yet... too new of a member xD :bulgy-eyes: /watch?v=fqxd-_CIAzI

Cheers

That was sort of like my problem.
Instead of telling me to push eject immediately, it would work..
but if I wanted to eject a disc or insert one, I would the hear the mechanisms moving but the slot wouldn't open.

What I would do to diagnose those is to remove the face plate of the console.
It's very simple. Do not unplug anything, just unattach that front plate.
It's on #6 of these instructions:
https://www.infinitiscene.com/search/1/?q=3210-06-08-Clock-Assembly-Removal

The left side is easy to take off.. you can remove it with your fingers.
The right side has two cables, so if this is your first time.. be careful.
I used a trim removal tool to unnattach.

If you need a quick video demonstration, I'll record and link it to you.

Once you have the faceplate unattached (w/ the two plugs still connected... basically your face plate is still attached only through those two cables)
Turn on the radio and mess with the CD changer. Does it work, now?
If it works, my DIY will work for you. If it doesn't there's probably something wrong with the whole CD changing unit.

I'm uploading a quick 2 minute video right now

YES! At first, that's what was going down.

but! I just went and tried again, and WALA!!!!! they popped right out! I figured out its a problem with the mechanism on the faceplate. The little door that is supposed to ipen to allow the cd in isnt lifting up, so the poor changer is trying to force the cd through a closed door. Guess until I order a new faceplate, ill ahve to take it off every time. :P
Oh well.
It's my dealer's fault. They just fixed my dash that had a recall because of the sun blisters it got. (The service was smooth and easy)(and free) ;D but i'm sure they jacked it up when they were replacing the dash. They should replace it free.

No biggy.
But hey! Thanks so much for the quick help. THis is one heck of a community running here. Cheers!

You DO NOT have to order a new face plate lol, that's the same problem I had.
The rod is not pushing the face plate FULLY.
That's why I used the little foam from my slipper, dabbed hot glue on it and stuck it on the rod that pushes into the face plate from the inside.
and bam, it works again.

BUT, if you CAN get a new face plate for free or new unit altogether, you should definitely go for it :good:
Otherwise, I'll make a simple DIY for you.
