Hi all...question about the catalytic convertor, does anyone know or have removed their catalytic convertor from their FX35??
I have HKS exhaust with Stillen intakes, would it make it too loud for the street?? what difference would it make to my ride??

thx in advance..

You can either replace the oem cats with hi-flow cats or cat delete pipes (also called test tubes. They're straight pipes). Test pipes will definitely make it drone and it'll most likely cause you some tickets. Hi-Flow cats will also make it loud. Most of them drone as well but you might have luck. I say keep the cats. Just replace your y-pipe if you want performance and some more sound..

If by remove you mean go straight to test pipes, prepare for loud and raspy. Resonated test pipes will tone it down a bit, and high flow cats will tone it down more. Plenty of options out there for any of these. Also, they go up in price as they get quieter. Test pipes are just straight pipes, so they are cheap. Some resonated test pipes also are pretty cheap, and high flow cats are anywhere from $400-800.

I have the HKS rear section with UTR y-pipe and megan resonated test pipes.

It is a bit raspy at times, but the raspiness has gone away for the most part now that I have put more miles on the car.

I don't find it to be too loud. My roommate said it sounds nice to him outside of the car.
