Carrying Load over GVWR

This may not be the correct section to ask, my sincere apology.

I have a 2010 FX35 rwd.

I was planning to buy brick edging for my yard at Lowe's (15 miles away), I need 86 bricks and they weigh around 16lbs each --- a total of 1,376 lbs.

The GVWR is 5,301 and FX curb weight is 4,158 --- that leaves 1,143 for total cargo.

Now including my weight that would make the total cargo almost 400lbs over the weight rating.

Should I worry about it driving 15 miles with about 400lbs heavier than my FX's weight rating? I know it's my call, but what would you do? I don't have a trailer or another truck.

I would rent a truck from a big box home store like lowes or home depot for a couple of hours.
 
If you do plan on doing it with your FX, I would suggest to add like 5psi on top of the OEM spec for your tires to increase the load rating. Then deflate them back afterwards. Also, when adding air or deflating, make sure the tires are cold, ie not driven for 3 hours.

You're over the cargo limit- this is probably the best way to go unless you're willing to take the risk of damaging the car. Try to call a friend with a pick-up or something if the store doesn't offer delivery/rentals.

Lowe's charge $70 for a local delivery unless it's an appliance delivery, if I can't find a truck to borrow I'll probably just drive to the store twice I guess.

You gonna put all that brick into your new FX? Just make two trips. Although I think 400lbs is not that much for a vehicle of it's size.
 
If it were me, I would not worry at all about that weight over 15 miles. I would be much more concerned about scratching something wedging all that in there. I'd take 2 trips out of pure laziness, ease, and convenience.

i'll probably just make 2 trips. they are uniform size 4x16x2.5 concrete edging.
i guess i just want to know if anybody has tried to go over the payload.
