Car won't start

I've searched around the forum but found no answer. It all started while changing my license plate lights, I started noticing all of my lights were flickering, including the dash. I continued, thinking nothing of it, until I started to turn on my car. No luck. It started to make a fast clicking noise while turning the ignition. I thought to myself, maybe I somehow discharged the battery while chaning the lights, so I had my dad jump start the car for me. After several tries, still no luck. :frown:Checked the fuse, all seems to be ok. I'm just wondering if anyone may know what is causing my car not to start, dead battery? alternator? I would really appreciate any help I can get.

Sorry for the long post.

*edit* I am also noticing that the front turn lights are blinking slower and dimmer, and my interior lights do not come on including lights on the dash with the exception of seatbelt, airbag, and battery icon, and my horn does not work.

you said it all started after you changed you license plate lights.... are they still on the car? remove them and whatever else you did prior to having the "battery" problems.

also check the fuse next to the battery post (+) . (its very small clear cover) see pic, not the one in his hand , but next to the battery post
pic is from fxtion

but what you are saying sounds like a dead battery (except for the jump start part).

SO there are no check engine lights? if there was , you can scan for a code.

No check engine light came on prior nor during this problem. At this point, I'm kind of scared to touch anything but will try and remove those lights to see if it does anything. I've changed lights before and have never had anything like this happen. Will look at the fuse again to make sure everything is ok. Thanks for your input.

I'm pretty sure it s a battery issue from listening to your symptoms. I suggest taking the battery to Autozone or alike and the having the battery checked. They can check it for you on the spot and if the battery is low then you can just pickup a new battery there.

Thanks for all your input. I suspected it was the battery but wanted some second opinion. Will take out the battery tomorrow and take it to Autozone to know for sure. BTW, any recommendation as to which battery I should get?
