Hey guys not sure what goin on here but, at idle my 2004 FX35 with 81k shakes. It doesn't seem to be able to hold idle very long with out it stumbling and little then catching itself. The oddities continue when I begin to drive and the car still shakes when I go to accelerate. The engine note had also changed slightly. I was wondering if anyone else has ever encountered this issue. My guess is the throttle body is all out of whack, but your opinions are greatly appreciated!!! And I spelled shaking wrong?!

possibly a bad ignition coil or spark plug, sounds like a cylinder isn't firing... any codes?

could be something with the ignition as far checking codes just take it to autozone or schuck, oreily and use the tool so you can have an idea of what is going on. sounds like a bad plug or coil but not knowing any codes do not know where to start.

It's possible to pull the code within the car without any tools as long as the engine light is on. After you do the process, the light flashes a certain number of times and that's the code. Real helpful when you get a check engine light while running the 1/4. ;)

This could be a TB problem. But I'm leaning towards a back ignition coil or a bad spark plug..

You need to head somewhere that can check it for you, most likely it will be a misfire code p0301 - p0306, the last digit equals the cylinder that is giving you the problems.

Edit: or read your codes as stated above.

Did it work? I've only seen it done, never done it though. Pulled a code at the track wince my TB was off after cleaning.

Hey guys just to give a heads up it turned out to be a bad ignition coil on cylinder 1. Unfortunently never got around to the peddle dance, and my extended warranty company picked up the tab :)
