Can't turn ignition switch/key

So I was out of the country for a while and when I got back the battery on my '05 FX35AWD was depleted. I wanted to jump start it, but for some reason I can't turn the key/ignition switch. Frozen solid. Kind of feels like the steering lock, but different somehow. Tried to turn the steering wheel, no dice.
Any guess what it could be or how to remedy it?
