Canadian Running Lights feature

I just obtained a Graphite 2004 and it is very difficult to see on grey roads against the usually grey skies of the Pacific Northwest. I would really like it if my car just thought of itself as Canadian, eh, and turned on the running lights whenever it was, uh, running. I know I can manually turn them on and the car will politely "ding" me if I try to leave them on. But it would be more convenient if there was just a way to do this.
Does anyone know?

That link is for mk2 FX. May or may not work for you.

Otherwise for mk1, if you have 6$ and 15mn to spend, you can use this tutorial to connect the DTRL (also, check if your DTRL bulbs are already there, otherwise add 20$): How to wire DTRL for US FX Did it ~2 years ago, works like a charm
