The wheels I want to get:

Avant Garde M355 M5 replica wheels 20x9
***.modbargains.com/Avant-Garde-M355-Wheels-BMW.htm

These are BMW wheels so they are 5x120 fitment, I am required to get an adapter. With a 25mm adapter (to clear stock bolts), the offset drops to 10mm from 35mm. Preview: ***.willtheyfit.com/index.php?width=225&aspect=55&diameter=18&wheelwidth=8.5&offset=47&width2=245&aspect2=40&diameter2=20&wheelwidth2=9&offset2=10&Submit=Submit

The wheels would stance ~1.7inch longer than oem ...

Tell me this can work? :|

That wheel will stick out 50mm more than the stock wheels
18x8 +47mm offset

ack, kept measuring 8.5. so now im upto almost 2" stance :)

Easiest thing to do would be to just measure 1.7" out from where the outer edge of your rim sits now. Also motorsport-tech makes adapters in a 19mm if you don't want them to stick out as far.

the stock lugs are longer than that so youd need a 25mm adapter .. actually thanks to this person who just posted it

will try to measure later ... thanks

You can trim down the stock studs, or if the new rims have indents on the back you might not have to.

Can always redrill them so no adapter. Cost won't be that much worse than adapters. At +10, you can make the wheels fit, but it will rub without some work.

The wheels have the indents so you dont have to cut. I had this setup. On my gs300 you have to watch. With the wheels tjey are cheaply. Made they crack

After running many spacers I would not recommend trimming the studs. I did that for two sets of wheels and then- when I switched the wheels and no longer needed a spacer - the actual stud was too short and had to be replaced. Studs are cheap - install is not.

I though about this set up too and did a lot of photochopping - but it was just too many steps and the quality of the wheel was a little suspect. I have to worry due the the poor roads in Los Angeles. You may not have that isssue.

I'm all for spacers (been running them for years with no issue - but don't buy cheap ones) - but adapters not so sure about. And both my shops said a firm "don't do it" on redrilling and specifically on this wheel.

Of course - this is just my .02.

And shameless plug - by one of my two sets i have for sale and you won't have any issues! :)

PS - a great solution to this is to buy the M56 20" wheel...only 1800 a set and covered under warranty.

My photo shop is here....

Those M wheels look nice.

These wheels will stick out a bit --- would be dope with custom fender flares though.... but in reality it'll be a lot of poke and look sort of stupid.
