can i cut stock springs?

till i find a good way($$) to ship H&R springs and have some money.. for the mean while can i cut the stock springs to lower it ? because i saw some ppl cut there H&R to lower it more.. but will it have any negative effects if its possible to cut the stock springs?
And by the way does any of u now how many inches is the dash screen(orange&yellow:tdown:) of 2003 fx because i want to replace it and put it instead of the clock..

i think cutting them isnt a good idea id better wait for the h&r .. because it doesnt sound right .. but idnt now maybe its an option for some time till i get H&R
 
7" screen.

I have a brand new one that I'm probably not gonna use, but not so sure about shipping, so it'd probably best to find a 7" screen local, or get a double-din style located where the clock is.
 
thnx alot guys .. im gonna put the the orange screen by replacing it by the clock.. and in the upper part im gonna put a 7inch touch screen were the orange screen was.. i found a good touch screen 7 inch dvd mp3.... on ebay for 200$ its gd i hope it works out.. and again thnk u for ur help
