Camera install pics

hi. Just trying to help.

My fx didn’t come with an oem back up camera, unfortunately the oem harness doesn’t have wires pre run. I thought maybe even if it didn’t come with the camera, the harness would still be there but it wasn’t.
Ran the wires through the grommet on the rear hatch for the cleanest install. Then from the roof d pillar to the c pillar, down the passenger door area to the center dash.

How is the camera working?

Camera works amazing considering it was like $40 on amazon. I always read negative reviews as well and had me a little skeptical but day and night quality is really good.
The rca wire also runs a reverse 12v wire with it so wiring at the head unit was easy as well.
Not the greatest pic but here’s one. There seems to be lines in the photo but not in person.
I’m waiting to change my camshaft sensor so I can’t really drive it too far.

Great job! How did you fish the wire through the upper hatch trim to the grommet?

Coat hanger and also just solid gauge wire as the coat hanger sometimes was too thick.

Put masking tape on the end of the wire so it doesn’t scratch when running through.

What’s nice about the install was that the camera I bought fit super well where the oem camera goes (figures).

Make note of this picture here that I had to drill a tiny hole. I spent soooo long trying to fish it through without drilling a new hole and it made me crazy so I drilled a tiny hole and was a piece of cake. Hole can’t be seen with panels on so no big deal.

Haha yea it took me a while to figure out that the panel didn't come off and I would have to drill a hole. I never ended up drilling a hole and just left the wire dangling a bit. Looks clean though as I didn't even notice the hole.
