Sorry to hear your times did not improve Alan, perhaps next time. What color was "NismoFX" FX? It could be a freak of nature, but highly doubtful.

Well yes, boostfreaks friend (NismoFX --- thats his custom license plate)did an amazing job. He ran a 14.9 !! watch out Will, a new winner is stepping up.

I dont doubt the 14.9 time, but I dont think hes telling us whats really on the VQ.

white. I really like the contrast with the black molding/rails

didnt mean anything by that comment:wink:

but after thinking about it, NismoFx could have been squeezing. Boostfreak did mention he "had" NOS on there but took it off. no big deal, just really curious.

maybe boostfreak can chime in.

This cars a beast..there was no evidence of any "foul" play. Hopefully he can show another timeslip to back it up.

My slips :frown:

Then I highly suspect he did have or reinstalled the NOS system back in. It is impossible for a NA FX35 to attain that time.

I like the numbers too but would like an upfront disclosure of what exactly he is running. I would not think he is trying to pass those numbers off as legitimate NA numbers. We here are not that naive.

White FX35 with 22" wheels. He did say he was sqeezing before..but he had taken it off.....I didn't see any evidence of a bottle...but I also didn't look inside his car. But there were no extra hoses going into the intake or throttle body area.

But he did go into the water and do a nice little burnout too..hmmmm?? (no smoke though)

Only thing Alan and I saw were:
Headers
TB spacer
open air intake
flowmaster exhaust

Either he was sqeezing and did a good job of hiding it...or this thing really is a beast. Hard to believe he blew away the fastest NA 35 on here(Will) with no juice...but I did see it with my own eyes....or like I said it was hidden very well.

and he had the hood popped almost the whole time....Alan looked under the car to see if he had any other improvements.....nothing. If I wasn't there I wouldn't believe it either...but it very well could have been hidden. But looking at his engine..he had no engine cover, and he had no bottom plastic(sorry forgot what that piece is called) It really Didn't look like he could be hidding anything....

hmm well maybe boost freak can post up some pics of his engine, etc. if he wont tell us the secret. theres gotta be something drastic he did.

Plus, even it he was sqeezing....why wouldn't he just tell us? We weren't running for money. If we had some bets on the line, I could see him being deceiptful, hiding his engine, all of that. But he wasn't like that at all. Everyone was real cool.

One other thing I just remembered, he had an almost full gas tank, and he had taken out all of the stuff out of the trunk. Spare tire, jacks, etc.

But taking the stuff out of his trunk doesn't seem to make much of a difference. Right Alan?

With NOS you couldn't tell by just looking over the engine. He could have been just wanting to see the reactions from you guys and others. Not saying he was trying to be deceitful for wagering, but just not full disclosure, lol.
Did you guys get a complete look inside his FX? See any bottle?

I'm glad you guys had fun , can't wait for the vids.

As far as the freak of nature FX is concerned...dunno. Good for the owner of that FX I guess. But it's highly unlikely that when that FX was being built, a freak accident occured and maybe it got bitten by a spider or something (you get the idea lol), and it became the fastest NA 35 with just a few bolt on's...and it's almost matching some FI times.

Not trying to take anything away from that FX, it's just hard to believe, that's all :dontknow:.

Ok, share the secret!! Unless this is the super duper secret jslfakjlaskdjflfeoiowjeofggekjejee mod.

Is it the $2 resistor mod hahaha:err:

I am still going with a well hidden nos kit...

Reminds me of this:

what about a rear mount turbo? or would that be visible just by looking at the engine?
VERY visible. You would not see an air filter anywhere if he had a rear-mount (except for the filter). The muffler would have been replaced by the turbo, air filter, and waste gate. There's a very loud spooling sound from a rear-mount turbo.

They saw the filter, intake tube, and all of that going straight into the throttle body. What they did not look for was steel braided hose connecting to a hidden port at the back of the plenum, near the throttle body... or did not make proper note of a tube going into the intake plenum. Either way, it's very easy to hide. The bottle is even easier to hide.

14.900 on an NA FX35? Highly doubt it.

Yeah the more I though of it last night....probably NOS. We took his word that he was off the bottle. So we really didn't examine the TB or intake plenum. He said he emptied his trunk..easy place to put a bottle, under the cover.

Booost Freak who is all stock ran 16.1.....With some mods I ran 15.9 ( First time ever racing..I'll get better )...Merchant w/ mods ran 16.3 w/ everything out of his trunk ( think his MAF is dirty or something's just off ).

So how does a couple mods get you OVER a second to the next fastest in the 1/4 mile the same day? and 1/2 second faster to the fastest recorded time on IS? That equates to about a 60 hp increase. Booost Freaks friend = NOS.

We can file this in the "Unsolved Mysteries".

Or

We can be like that other site and say that he paid the time lady at the booth to adjust the times......:ehh::eek::err:
