I noticed my driver seat lifted on the left corner when pulling out or simply getting on it hard. I did not see anything broke so I decided to pull the seat, and this is what I found. Anyone have this happen, and if so, how did you repair it? It may be able to be welded, but not sure how much of the underside I would need to remove to do it the right way. Thanks for the help!!

Does anyone know if the seat bottom can be removed from the main framework without having to remove the leather? I need to get this fixed, the movement is driving me crazy.

Ive fixed that before. I covered the surrounding areas with some rubberized fender covers so that the seat didnt get burned and i welded it! Like new! Doesnt take that long if your a quick & steady welder.

Did you take it apart to do it? I am thinking I would need to to weld it from the top. Only way from the bottom would be to weld it to the other part which is currently bolted. Thanks for the advice.

I think its worth it to get the bottom off. You might get a cleaner weld that way. Unless its a pain to get to it you could just do it from the bottom & just add a piece of steel to mate the two together.

I am going to try to disassemble first . Thanks for the advice.

When you fixed this, did you take that framework off the bottom? I would like to not have to remove the leather from the seat bottom to unbolt it. It looks like I may have to according to the service manual.

I just did it with it attached. I used a thin angled welder tip. It fit just in between the frames. You just gotta be careful not to burn anything while your welding it.
