So I just came home and parked my fx, I put the gear shifter in park and shut the car of, it then started beeping and keeps asking me to put the shifter in the park position , anyone know whats wrong with it?

Ugh so here start the problems.

So if I ever hit this issue, how much generally are the parts and labor? Sounds expensive.

2nd gen owners are getting up there in miles so we shall start to see some things pop up such as some problems. Perfect example my brake booster check valve.

Mine does this sometimes.. I just nudge the lever forward a little and beeping goes away. Been too lazy to take it in..

I've been very lucky guys. She's been treating me way too well and I'm almost at 80k and I worry one day I'm gonna get hit with like 5 problems.

happened to me - the sensors on the gear selecting mechanism go bad. couple hours service

Tried that it isnt working ...I dont even have to press the button on the gear shifter , it just moves from park freely.

I have taken mine apart and cleaned things when getting to the nav and other times....maybe that's why I haven't had problems?

I think this is internal inside of the gear selector assembly. You don't open the gear selector assembly do you Jonas?

Dwayne I didn't mean you have to have a lot of miles to see some problems. But I mean the longer these cars are out on the road the more problems we are going to see turn up from members on here.

I know what you meant , my fx in particular I guess has most of the factory defects they are ....

it sounds like you broke the parking pin if it moves form Park freely. ..

How does that happen? If the parking pin is broken wouldn't that mean the car wouldnt stay in park, ...the indicator light on the gear shifter and on the speedometer says the car is in park only when I turn it of it start beeping saying the car isnt in park .the transmission itself is acting normally. Im taking it in to the dealer tommrow ill update.

haha I bet the 3rd gen will hav a heated steering wheel. Hopefully it has heated center console and door panels where your arm rests.....I guess beggars can't be choosers. :)

I hope my shifter assembly doesn't go bad I have 52K miles. I try not to play with my shifter a lot moving it back and forth a lot I'm sure causes wear and tear.

I would rather have a heated steering wheel than heated seats. To begin with Infiniti seat heaters are lousy and also Nissans have had heated steering wheels for years. My 2002 maxima SE had a heated steering wheel and I just loved it.

One thing I disliked is how the heated steering on/off function is located in the inTouch menu on the 2nd screen. I prefer an actual physical button. They used the inTouch system to get rid of most of the buttons on the center stack and driver side knee area of the steering wheel.

There is another cool feature in the Q50 some don't know about. The seat heaters now have an auto function linked to the intelligent key to automatically warm the seats up when you get into the car.

They also added the feature that let's you flick the turn signal stalk and it blinks the turn signal light 3 times without the need to pull the stalk back up.
