Wrapped and Bagged
Looking good brother. Care to elaborate on the shitty shifter transaction?

I bought the shifter and another item off the vendor's website, both items were confirmed as in stock. When the package was finally shipped and arrived, only the shifter was in the box. This was never communicated to me, which is a hassle cause I drive over the border to pick stuff up. I contacted the vendor and asked why my second item was not included, the vendor then looked into it and told me the part was on B/o. I decided I would wait for it to come in, he said he should have it in a couple weeks and would ship it out and let me know. Over a month goes by and no word, so I contact the vendor again, and still nothing, I decide I am willing to wait a little longer, again in the new year I contact the seller again and nothing. so I ask him what the deal is, and he says he basically can't get the piece I need, and tries to give me another item which isn't what I wanted. I say no and ask for a refund, a week goes by and no response or refund, so I contact him again and finally a refund is finally processed a couple days later.

Throughout this entire thing, NOT ONCE did the vendor contact me to update me or give me information, conversation was ALWAYS initiated by me. Had I forgotten about the item, the vendor would have happily kept my money and not given it a second thought (which almost happened). Not once did the vendor seem apologetic or remorseful about the headache. Genuinely among the worst transactions I have had online. I wouldn't buy a pencil off this vendor, let alone parts for my car.

My Hella's are almost dead now. I will switch to old school Cadillac horns soon.

PS ^ just to clarify that it wasn't me, selling the shifter to Meme:ninja:

Really? I hope mine don't die... Did you run thicker wire to them? I feel like mine are underpowered with the factory wire, hope that doesn't damage them.

No it was not Zebra, in fact I would recommend anyone to buy from Zebra. I have had a few interactions with him both as a vendor and a member here, and all interactions have been prompt, perfect and he is always helpful and gives the best prices...:good:

lol, no I have a feeling the backside of that shifter would say exactly which one it was. :)

Thanks Meme.

Mine was wired with the relay, maybe it was too much power? Actually it started to die after the second WI winter, maybe exposing to salt caused all that.

Picked up a cosworth plenum, needs a bit of TLC, but overall great purchase. So stoked to finally have one of these, this is the holy grail of VQ35 plenums.

One step closer...:

Nice! I've been looking for it back in the days but never got the funds for it. Cant wait to see it installed. BTW, your avatar is so out-dated.. haha...

Really nice plenum. Best for a blown motor, N/A, not so sure

FI is in the plans, but just not in the budget currently.

I havn't heard anything bad about it for N/A motors, I think it's just not any more beneficial than a regular spacer, and that it is exorbitantly more expensive.

I do also have the 3.5" Furookie intake (basically the 1/2" larger diameter version of the piece Rookie himself pioneered), and the NWP Engineering big bore throttle body coming. So that should take the breather mods as far as anyone could on a N/A motor.

The final thing I need is a set of HFC's or long tube headers. I was looking at the PPE LTH's, but their so expensive...lol

Cosworth wasn't in bad shape overall, but needed a polish, so I got to work:

20160520_150431_zpsk8lwr0c5.jpg

I used this stuff:

20160520_150438_zpsf8a3qwt4.jpg

Made sure to really get into all the corners:

20160520_150446_zpsm24kvker.jpg

Then I hit it with some fine metal polish just to shine it right up. End result:

20160520_153044_zps1hygthee.jpg

Then I started taking everything apart for install:

20160520_172005_zps6zjv5z7h.jpg

20160520_174954_zpsmknnjgus.jpg

Decided while I was in here it was a good opportunity for some other items to get knocked off the to-do list. First there was the fuel mod:

20160520_184037_zpsnivrdsiu.jpg

Basically cleaning up this little corner and simplifying the Fuel feed system. Ended up deleting this entire piece:

20160520_204554_zpsoklvw61h.jpg

This is what it looked like after:

20160520_204628_zpseyao2xy7.jpg

While in that area I also cleaned up the wiring tuck a little bit further, and wiped everything down really nicely.

I had been dealing with a little bit of a hard start issue when the weather was colder, and it came up as an error on one of my cam shaft position sensors. I ended up picking up 2 new sensors and putting them in:

20160520_203631_zpsg5whs6xx.jpg

20160520_200704_zps4bx34hwu.jpg

Once I put in the cosworth I realized there was another little bit of cleanup I could do related to the brake booster vacuum line. Highlighted in red:

c75557f5-5413-461c-975d-db81301cc41f_zpsijcdi1il.jpg

Got a piece of 3/8" hose, and a nice rubber grommet, also picked up a 3/8 to 3/8 hose barb coupler:

20160522_170657_zpspvul2rxj.jpg

20160522_170915_001_zpsdoxsdspq.jpg

20160522_171328_zps5xqqntpw.jpg

Now that hose just runs out the bottom and straight into the side of the plenum underneath. I didn't delete the line just in case, but as soon as I test it a bit, I will get rid of that hardline. So this is what she looks like for now:

20160522_181917_zpst01cr0gr.jpg

Still not really happy, but it is better than before. I would really love to get those chromed coolant pipes in, that would delete a lot of coolant bypass lines and such, but I've been waiting to get a new radiator and stuff before I drain all my coolant again in order to do that. So for the next little bit it will be on the wait list.

I do have an NWP Big Bore Throttle body, which should arrive in the next couple weeks, it's just getting polished, then I can put on the polished 3.5" intake I have along with that.

Okay, well. I did a few things, and more has come in. So I figured minor update was in order.

First thing, Something which I posted on instagram. But many people ask:

20160724_214515_zpsr9np1djd.jpg

Yes my factory false floor fits over top of the setup in the trunk. Super stealth, and quiet in this orientation.

Then for shows:

20160724_214701_zpsqgvuep9n.jpg

I added the lights recently. Typical Ricer LED strips which flash and dance to music. :)

On to new business: I pulled my wheels off one day to clean them fully, as well as inspect all my brakes and suspension, bushings, bearings, etc. I also took this time to actually clean all my inner fenders and components.

Here is the before of the fenders and components:

20160731_124252_zpseb7sj8b7.jpg

Here is the after:

20160731_134120_zpsad0u8u9k.jpg

Looks much better than before. Took the time to lubricate everything and touch up everything after it dried as well. (Note: I know the trim piece has some marks on it, I actually have a new one, but I want to get all those pieces painted and cleared so that they can be wrapped to match the colour of the car. There is some other things I want to do holding this project back. So for now, I leave on the ugly beat up trim).

Wheels:

Before:

20160731_142307_zpsfiq0ao5y.jpg

After:

Screenshot_20160801-173025_zpsg3edy4pb.png

Now for continued work inside the engine bay. I received these:

20160820_225616_zps3gtqjb7c.jpg

Polished VTC Solenoids with the Ends painted black. Also new gaskets to install them.

Before:

(You can see it just under the cover there)

Cover off:

IMG_0628_zpskxdnsivv.jpg

Now you can see the ugly old ones.

IMG_0629_zpsihutjctp.jpg

Ewwwww.

IMG_0631_zpszegp2x4x.jpg

Undo the pigtail, three bolts and they come off.

IMG_0632_zpsm9qkjczt.jpg

This is the bolt. Cleaned these up for reinstall.

IMG_0633_zpsbn7buftd.jpg

Old gasket.

Lol Now it is only my neurotic ass that will ever know I bothered doing this. Haha.

PS. Yes the engine bay was super dusty, and a bit grimy. I Wiped it down and cleaned it before a car show I went to yesterday.

Few more parts I have finally received:

20160817_194713_zpsjyhv3eip.jpg

Matching Coolant and PS reservoirs from Sean Chase. These are his square style and polished. He also makes them in round and raw aluminum finish. I will be mounting these soon, and after that I will let everyone know how that goes, and anyone interested in them I can pass his info along. He's a reputable dude, lots of 350z and G35 guys running his tanks.

These are quality fucking pieces as well:

Baffle inside the coolant reservoir to make sure air doesnt get into the system. Welds are beautiful.

20160817_194910_zpsqmmcs9rc.jpg

Caps have breathers in them, and nice thick replaceable O Rings which seal well. And the threads are perfect. Unlike the shitty Cans from Weapon R.

I also finally received my NWP BBTB from Baid Polish:

I went through Baid cause I wanted the unit Polished. So he bought a brand new kit and polished it for me and sent it out. Looks awesome. This along with my new polished 3.5" Furookie intake is gonna look awesome.

Props to NWP for this as well, super well made adapter and harness. I can't install yet, cause I need to schedule a day to have the car retuned, then I can install right before that.

Your engine bay will look really nice. Good job meme. The before and after inner barrels look amazing. (y)

I like the coolant and power steering bottles , Where did you get them ?

Okay well NWP and 3.5" Furookie intake are installed. Going in for a re-tune tomorrow.

Before (factory TB and Takeda intake):

file_zpsddo6hozg.jpe

NWP Harness Patch Cable:

file1_zpsqvztmvb3.jpe

NWP Adapter mounted to the Cosworth:

file2_zpsjvaysubu.jpe

Both TB's side by side:

file3_zpselndujsj.jpe

Everything mounted back up:

file5_zps6mpgtigf.jpe

After I installed this I got fed up with the PCV and tube underneath the intake. So I ordered a PCV delete and breather kit from EPS tuning. I'll put that on soon. Which should clean up a couple more things. Since I am N/A for the foreseeable future a simple breather kit is a good choice. When I do finally build a new motor for FI I will need to get a catch can setup.
