Hi Guys it is crazy amount of snow in NY seems like it want stop.

Today is the first day I drove my fx on snow. I really felt the different than driving my car. But when I hit the brake hard while driving on snow its makes a rubbing noise & brake paddle start to vibrate/shack. but when I brake slowly & smoothly no problem @ all. When I came home check the brakes nothing seems wrong. I have new tires & pads. I don’t want to drive it on snow if it is a problem. any idea guys?

Thanks a lot guys......
I have Falken ziex s/tz04 265/50/20 (all season) tires what you guys think, are those ok for the winter?

You can survive with any all-season tire in the winter so long as there is still a lot of tread left. The more tread, the more traction. No matter what AWD system your car may have, it won't help if your tires are worn out. However if you really want to take on mother nature confidently you're better off having a separate set of winter snow tires. I just bought a set of 20" Bridgestones from tirerack.com for around $700 shipped and the traction is amazing, even in deep snow. Of course, there has yet to be a tire that can handle ice patches but at least you won't have to worry about the other stuff!

i have all seasons also and been surviving the NY winter. at times, winter tires would be nice especially since the fx, even though its awd, seems to always get stuck in a foot of snow easily but can also do without the winter tires as everyday driving seems ok.
