Brake time!

Hey guys, I just serviced my FX and they said I needed brakes.. So I decided to do it myself.

I'm changing front pads.. I will be ordering them from Infiniti.. Any idea how much they run for? And how many types of pads does Infiniti have? Should I ask for a specific type?

And also, I've done brakes before.. but on 3 honda's... So I was curious as to how much more difficult it might be? The only thing that worry's me is sensors.. and such..
Any info. Appreciated!

Thanks!

Anyone? And how do I bed them correctly when I'm done?

Some of the members have mentioned that hawk pads do not last long and brake dust is pretty bad.

My brakes are done and and I'm going to get oem pads again because it lasted me just under 40k miles. These are the best oem pads i've had on any cars.

I was thinking of getting the Hawk pads but not if they wear out fast and dust out my wheels. I went with some napa pads on my QX4 and the rotors warped. What are the best pads to get for the stock FX rotors. I was told that ceramic pads are what the OE's are is that correct?

My pads are done as well... Was thinking of getting the Hawk's, but even Tirerack warns you they are dusty and loud, so gonna pass on those for sure... What else is out there?

OEM!!!

I think there are couple out there. I've heard someone having Akebono pads.

Akebono here. Brake dust and noise are not bad at all. They're SUPPOSED to be super-break-dust-free because they're ceramics I believe? But they're not.

My brakes are just a bit loud from the slottedness of the rotors.

Well I did the brakes today.. however.
my new pads that I recieved, didn't have the silencer with them, so I used the ones from the old pads... (The other silver plate looking thing that attatches to pads) I however, forgot to put on all 4. I put on 2, 1 on each side... on the inside brake pad.

So the outside pads don't have the silencer on... My brakes work perfect though.. But what do you guys think? Could it potentially damage the brake pads if I don't put them on?

I beleive the OEM's are Ceramic as well.

for the rotors nothing, they slide right off

for the calipers you will need your normal sizes (14mm, 16mm, etc.) ///91

ok so I just changed my brakes and got new rotors and had the tires rotated & balaced, but I still have a vibration in the brake pedal, does anyone have an idea what it could be ?

Did you have the rotors turned on the car or off?
On car rotor turn is the better way to go as any imperfections of hub surface will be turned out also.
