How many of you have after market rotors and have never resurfaced them? I have always heard service folks say they can't resurface them, but I have gotten mine resurfaced with no issues. The next time I'll just have to replace all rotirs and pads. thank goodness for rotor pros. any way I was just curious who has had there aftermarket rotors resurfaced.....

Should be fine for turning unless they have some kind of coating or are slotted or cross drilled.

you can even turn slotted & cross drilled up to a point, once you get to the point of the bottom of the chamfered holes in the cross drilled holes then there done, but they can even take a cut or 2 really. I'd say anytime pads are changed the rotors should be turned, as long as there thicker than the minimum thickness stamped on all dot rotors you should be fine...
I found a place close to me that will resurface cross drilled/ slotted rotors. They charge $25/ea rotor due to the blade having to be replaced after doing your rotors.
I just threw my RotorPro's crossdrill/slotted in the trash. With Hawk HPS pads, they had huge gouges in them. I was never happy with the way they stopped. I just went back to stock pads and rotors and like them better.

Yeap John you are right I got mine turned with no issues. The guys that did the resurface said the same thing, that it's important to get the rotors turned with new pads. I asked if there would be any issue with the machine doing the resurfacing and they said no. The the blade doesn't recognize if the rotors is drilled or slotted unless of course the rotors are damaged beyond resurfacing then they wouldn't touch them. So when shops say they won't turn your rotors it's probably because the service guy doesn't know any better and rather feed the customer some bull... I hate when peopel don't know there jobs. Hell that what they get paid for...to know. Thanks fellas for your responses and experiences.
