Hi guys~ I have some question about break my 06 fx35.

2month ago i changed rear break pads myself. Just pads. But most people said to me

that i should change rotors too and i have to take out (drop??) some break oil...

should i do these works at same time?

Regular maintenance is always a good idea - call any dealership to ask how often to replace these items if you don't have a manual. Rotors do not need to be changed until they have been worn down below the factory thickness. If they have become warped or uneven, you can have them machined or "turned down" flat again. Rotors should last longer than brake pads, for sure.

It is common practice to bleed the brake fluid after changing pads, to make sure no air has come into the system when you compress the piston. However, it is not required. If there is air in your system, the brake pedal would feel "soft" or squishy before getting firm. If your brakes feel normal to you now then you are probably fine and do not need to bleed the fluid.

you should have at least resurfaced the rotors. when I did mine, I replaced the rotors. The reason is the rotor needs to be smooth and flat and when the pads get low, they make the rotors less flat and smooth.

But you should be ok, the only thing is your pads will not wear evenly and may wear out faster.

BTW they are brakes, not break. :nerd (2):

when compressing the calipers you need to crack the bleeder, this prevents old fluid from going back up into the lines and potentially damaging your abs system. So Crack the bleeder--> Compress --> Tighten the bleeder.... Cracking it also makes it very easy to compress the calipers with your bare hands.
