Brake pads

Has anyone exchanged their brake pad already? I was wondering if there are any better ones than the OEMs(without changing to the aftermarket discs and calipers) pads.

I am pretty amateur when it comes to brake pads.

Thanks Dracula!, I am at 24+K on odometer and already have to change break pads. Is this the norm?
My 2008 G37S went bad about the same time but it was sports car.

it depends on your driving habit, if its your reara that are worn then its normal.. If you want quiet and/or better than oem quality get the akebonos. Hawk, ebc and the sport ones will make alot of sounds while braking...

hmmmm, make a lot of sound like on the EVOs? hmmm I don't know if I will like that.
I still got 7mm on the front and 5mm on the back. It is already making noise when it is cold. I got 24K.

disc brake quiet will help allot.. When i installed hawk hps ferro carbon material pads, when my rotors got hot, it used to make grinding, squeaky and all kind of noises. But the stopping power was improved by 50%. Note i only installed these fronts only. Recently i did a brake job on all 4 corners i.e i applied disc brake quiet paste behind the pads, shoes, clips and etc. Wow all those sounds went away. But i highly recommend to buy aftermarket rotors, cross drilled ones. They will work better with hawks, and ebc.. Goodluck!

The new compounds that Infiniti / Nissan are using in their OEM pads is actually quite good, MUCH better than the way they were 5-6 years ago on the earlier models.
Hawk pads are always a decent upgrade for the street (HAWK HPS), but realistically it all depends 90% on driving habit.
feel free and pm or call me to pick my brain if you like :)
