Brake Caliper Scratched

I just got back from the garage near my house... They installed extended studs so that my aftermarket wheels could get a "safer" fit...

However on the front left side, the Caliper is a little scratched..

I don't remember it being scratched, but I can't guarantee that it wasn't when i brought it to the garage...

What are the chances of it being scratched just by driving outside?

How do you fix scratches on the Caliper?

where is it scratched? Are you sure the wheels fit correctly? or was it an obvious shop error?

like GEE said, sand a paint is the only thing you can do...
I would go back to the shop and show what they did
 
^^ Jordan might have the answer when he said "do the wheels fit correctly?"
I wonder if at first they put your wheel back on without your 3mm spacer, if this happened, would it rub against the caliper? Then they would have seen their mistake when it was rubbing, so they reinstalled your spacer. Just an idea how it may have been scratched up.
 
since he has a 50s, I assume he is running the stock 21s ...

could you have picked up some debris from driving those Canadian roads?

He is running his winter wheels 20" x 8.5 " Boss wheels and they were too close on the front so he was running 3mm spacers for clearance. Then his front studs were too short so he just had longer studs installed to run these wheels with the spacers.
 
ahhh .... ya, definitely something to do with the aftermarket wheels. check the BOSS wheels for missing paint (scratches on the inside of the wheel)

he probably needs bigger spacers...
 
man i hope that this happens every time i change over my wheels. That way the wife would have to let me powdercoat them. right now she thinks it is a waste of money. Damn women and their sexyness. they alway get what they want.

I just sanded and painted my calipers black using high temp caliper paint, and I gotta tell you one thing. Those calipers are rock hard. I tried 300 grit, 120 grit, and eventually went down to 60 grit and still, it was very hard to sand. I eventually gave up on trying to make it smooth and just went on to the painting.
