Bought an '06 FX45 today, think I got a deal on a clean ride

Hi all. Been shopping to upgrade my wife's Honda to an FX45. Have not been in any kind of hurry but came across a deal today I could not resist and pulled the trigger.

'06 FX45, 40k miles, 1 owner, clean carfax, black/black hard loaded tech/nav, rear DVD, towing package, etc. Would be listed at $28-$32k where I live. Bought an eBay from a reputable dealer and am having it shipped to me.

Does this look pretty decent to the Infiniti crowd? It is ebay item 200631895395 I did paid around $1k less than the buy it now price listed.

As for me, I'm in Denver, CO and the rest of my garage is pretty modified. I drive an '05 Legacy GT (E85, mid 12's at the dragstrip) as my daily driver and have built a lifted '99 Wrangler as a trail Jeep for the awesome trails nearby. And the last thing in my garage is an '07 Seadoo Speedster 215hp supercharged (small fast boat, lightly modified). The FX45 will be towing the boat since the Jeep sucked so bad at towing.

Congrats!! It sounds like a good deal... but I always say... if you've already bought it, don't dwell on the price paid... just enjoy it!

and BTW... LOVE the Subbie LGT's... I almost bought one before settling on my FX45

Damn bro that's a clean ride. Goodluck with it. Where is the spare tire? I never seen trunk like that in the fx before.

Welcome to :iS: all things FX Congrats on your new ride good choice:tup::tup:

Thanks a lot guys. I've been a fan of Infiniti's for a while and never bought one. We almost pulled the trigger on a white '07 G35x around 6 months ago but this is so much better. Really the missing piece for me has been a decent tow vehicle. This rig will be for the wife, but on trips and 'as a family' this will be our primary vehicle. She has opposed any kind of truck/SUV but since this is a 'crossover' built on the G platform and it is damn beautiful she is very excited. I opposed anything that could not tow the boat and had <300hp. The FX45 quickly became our only candidate and I've just been watching for months and months. In the process I found autotempest.com (best car shopping site) and how to get free autochecks for any vehicle for free.

I didn't catch the trunk difference since I didn't know what to expect... hmm.. I'll email the seller and ask for a picture of the spare. Is it typically where that 'box' is in the trunk?

As for my LGT, wish I could post the link to my vbgallery for my mods, racing videos, pics, etc. It is so much fun. Does 0-60 in 5.2s in stock form but I've doubled stock whp on the stock block, modified suspension and have a Stoptech BBK, etc. A pic or two of my trail Jeep would be cool to post too.. some other time.

That's a good deal, congrats. As for the trunk, this model is equipped with the RUN FLAT package. You get 2 storage compartments and no spare tire. I see that the previous owner even installed an aftermarket tow hitch.

One thing that confused me is, the fx45 has SPORTS grille and SPORTS headlights (sports pkg standard on the fx45's), judging from those pics they all appears had be replaced.

just got am email from the seller. car has runflat package... BUT current tuts on car are not run flats. :(

interesting about the front end.. can someone post a pix of what it should look like?

Great deal!

Car looks VERY clean, and great color combo. You also have every single option, even the rear entertainment system.

That rear trunk is awesome... that is typically where the spare tire goes, except it is space for you.

That has me wondering if your car comes stock with run flats? I'm not too familiar with 2006-2008 FX45's. That might mean no spare tire.

That is cool you have 2 keys too, many don't.

Here are things to ask for:

1) Where are the 2 rear headsets for the rear dvd entertainment package? Have them include for free or ask for a big discount on buying.

2) Where is the remote for the rear dvd entertainment package? Most likely it's in the pull down compartment in the rear seat (middle leather part), but double check!

3) License plate holder looks fine, but the plate looks crooked. Make sure the holes are lined up correctly (yeah picky and easy to do, but why not ask them).

4) Keys -- you have 2 i-Keys (main ones). Where is the valet key and spare key (credit card size and holder)? I think you should get 4 keys total.

5) Tow hitch cover, where is it? Tow package should come with a rubber cap cover.

6) ask them to include a print out of all the previous work done (dealership have access to that).

TIME FOR SOME MODS! NISMO, JWT intake (Or SLAMMING45's), H&R's or Coil overs, etc...

I was looking for RDX and end up with FX, never look back.

I'm not sure there are supposed to be DVD headrests on the 2006.. I did some searching and could not find any evidence that they are part of the package, but you guys are the experts. Can anyone elaborate on this?

The FX is not at an Infiniti dealer, so I don't think I have access to service records (or do I down the road once I prove ownership??)

Somebody brought up the front end looks different than it should, but I brought up stock photos from edmunds, etc. and for the 2006 it looks spot on to me. Am I missing something?

The autocheck report checks out clean but I'd be curious to see a carfax if anyone has any extras please PM me. VIN is on the ebay listing.

I'm excited about the run-flat package, but the fact that it doesn't currently have run-flats kinda sucks. ;(

Whoever pointed out the hitch was aftermarket - thanks - I will inquire about the mount to make sure it is frame mounted, possibly reinforced, and not just a cheap axle hitch for a bike rack.

Sorry, I was meaning these headphones:

They come with 2.

It doesn't matter, they can call the infiniti dealer and they can fax over the complete history (or at least what they have under the VIN). You don't need this, but nice to have what TSB, recalls, etc... were done.

Yeah, that hitch looks like a class 1? OEM is at least class 2.

what's a run flat package when it has no run flats?
Sounds more like you got a spareless package.
BTW. looks super clean.

Spareless package =) Actually that's what I have right now, the spare area is a big man purse full of uninstalled mods, spacers, and really cool stuff.

Yes I got the spareless package. Cool to have the extra storage but will get run-flats when it is time to replace the tires.

UPDATE: DVD remote is included. Headphones are missing (on eBay for $40 though). Hitch is aftermarket by Curt Manufacturing, rated at 3500lbs, tongue weight 350lbs. So that will definitely work. Seller is acquiring service records to forward to me right now. Carfax and Autocheck reports don't jive. Carfax shows 2 owners and Autocheck shows 1. Carfax shows minor accident less than $1k damage and Autocheck shows none.

Man that seller just rocks. Nearly immediate responses from him.

UPDATE: Received service records from Infiniti. Interesting. What do you guys think? Dang it still cannot hyperlink. Service records uploaded to beeez.com/service.PDF

Received insurance quote, not bad.
