hi everyone i have 05' fx35 and question is for my sound system on left side dash speaker is going in and out means sometimes there's sound and sometimes its out. but it only happens when im playing cd but for other things like radio its ok.does anyone have the same issue how could i fix it??? please help
 
this is common, many have had the same issue, left side goes out & only while playing a cd... it's the radio itself that's the problem... maybe a good electronics guy can repair it? don't have any more experience with it than just seeing several others with this issue & only solution I've seen is to replace
 
you will need a stock replacement really... the screen is a seperate part... do you have nav or is it just the orange screen version? don't think the head itself is interchangable between nav & non so you need the correct one... either dealer or maybe try your luck used? either that or if everything else works fine then just forget about the cd player...

Mine has this issue on occasion as well. Do you know if anyone has tried replacing or somehow circumventing the amplifier section of the oem unit? It seems to me that the cd player itself would be stereo, which would mean that issues with it would affect the entire right or left side of the system as opposed to a single speaker. Those dash speakers are run through some kind of high pass filter as well right? What do you think about the possibility of getting a full range stereo signal to power a real amp for the cabin speakers?
 
since it's only on the cd portion I'd guess it's nothing to do with the amplifier which is external I think... I really don't know all that much about the stock bose, I'm an all or nothing kind of guy, so far I've done nothing with the bose but when I do I'm just going to scrap everything & start from scratch, so I never really got too much into it tbh

since this problem is intermitant & comes & goes with bumps, my guess is a broken solder joint somewhere in the head on the board... might be worth taking apart & exploring... I never had this problem but I have since gutted my head unit & removed the whole cd charger sections & cassette sections completely... I probably have some pictures of the guts of the head in my fx thread if you want to poke around there...
 
when I change out the system I'll use a computer processor & new amps & speakers, etc... basically eliminating everything from the stock bose... there are ways to retain much of the bose system too & interface to work with it too, many have installed another head unit in the fx with the orange screen, search around & see what others have done... if I come across the pictures of the guts of the stock head I'll link them here, but I think there in my fx thread... I'll try to poke around for them later...
 
I have the same problem with my FX but it happens with every source (CD, tape, radio etc.). The left side cuts in and out, especially when braking. I think rather than have the stealership butcher my car trying to find the problemI'm just going to have it all replaced with aftermarket gear.
 
I noticed today that my left speaker issue is manifesting during FM radio playback as well as CD playback.
I was also looking at the stereo system schematic and it appears that the two "instrument speakers" (left and right dash) are run in parallel with the two front door speakers via (I assume) some kind of high pass filter at the dash speaker itself. My point being the left front door speaker and the left dash speaker are powered by the same single channel of the main amplifier (which is in the trunk, FYI). Hence, the wires would come up from the amp and into one of the two aforementioned speakers, and then on to the other. Similar to how multiple speakers in boxes are "piggybacked" when wired in parallel; One speaker is connected to the other, which is in turn connected to the input jack.
Without having ripped it apart yet, my guess is that the problem is caused by a loose connection at the dash speaker which is affecting both the dash speaker and the front door speaker due to the parallel wiring arrangement. This would also explain the reports of "fixing" the problem by smacking the dash.
